The room was very comfortable and homely. I was woken by a droning noise which on inspection was coming from either a boiler or air conditioning unit outside by the kitchen area. I put the tv on low to cover it and did go back to sleep. The check in was smooth and friendly. Unfortunately the heating wasn’t working but the site manager came over and discovered that the boiler wasn’t working so there was no hot water or heating. I was offered another room but I had already unpacked and it was late so he brought me another blanket.
I would definitely stay here again as the hotel is lovely and service excellent. Okay there was a problem, but sometimes things like I had do happen but it’s how things are dealt with are important.

The bathroom needs updating and when we moved furniture, there was enormous amounts of dust everywhere. Breakfast was good even though they don’t offer a cooked breakfast. Not sure the manager should sit in bar next to guests. Bit uncomfortable. Should be behind the bar or elsewhere in hotel

Disappointed in our overall presentation in our room. The hotel had very nicely upholstered furniture but the sofa in our room was unsuitable and quite tatty. It felt unfinished.
We couldn't rely on an evening meal bring available as the hotel cater for outside functions. We have stayed here before and our experience then was better than this stay.
The hotels position for touring is ideal

This is a wonderful old hotel with lovely old beams and lots of nooks and crannies, room was great, staff were great and food was great.
An ideal base for Arundel and the South Downs.

It’s a pretty looking property but in dire need of an upgrade and massively overpriced

Location was very good for visiting family nearby.
Had evening meal with extended family living in local area. Also stayed here a few months ago with the same local relatives. On both occasions we had to wait over two hours before our meals were served! The menu was not very varied and one of us had to have the same burger two nights in a row (we stayed for two nights)
Non of us will be using this hotel again which is a pity because it use to be so good.

We found the staff welcoming and friendly. The rooms were comfortable with everything one would need for a short stay. The breakfast buffet bar simply groaned with a huge range of cold food and drinks and there was a good menu for cooked alternatives. We were only able to fit in one evening meal and we went for the specials choosing fish for both starter (trout paté) and for mains – as we were near the sea, we decided on ‘catch of the day’ which turned out to be sea bass. The latter was both delicious and substantial – being presented to us by the very competent chef. This certainly was the highlight of our visit.

Lovely location, hotel was very comfortable. Staff were friendly. Good value for money. Will be returning.

The property and rooms were very nice, however the food was extremely poor. The hotel manager was very poor interacting with the guests. He gave you the impression that he didn’t want to be bothered.

If your discovering the south downs ie Arudel Castle etc this gem of a find is worth the stop over. Its a Fabulous building. Warm welcome from Sue and her team. Very nice interior. Loved the fish and chips Dinner. Bar and food very good value. Our room (3) was a real lovely surprise well furnished and huge. We stayed in Arundal the previous night which wasnt a patch on this lovely place.
We visited Arundal Shoreham and the prettiest village in the downs Amberley.

Didn’t stay. Was at a music festival. Was not aware you had to check in by a certain time. They wanted to leave by some silly time so I could not use reservation. Very disappointing.

The hotel has exceeded our expectations. It was truly beautiful and cozy. We felt really welcomed by the staff. I would definitely recommend this to couples and friends who would like a weekend getaway.

Hotel has character but a bit tired. Couple of things broken in room. Food was average, with a wait of 1 1/2 hrs for main meal which was not very hot. Staff friendly

We had a great stay. All staff very helpful. In the bridal suite which was bright and warm. Lots of hot water for the lovely bath. We arrived later than we liked but were still able to have a meal. Reception is not manned 24hrs but not a problem as your room key also lets you in the front door. Already thinking of booking our next stay.

Avoid Avoid Avoid. Never have I ever been subjected to such rude management and staff as this establishment offers. On arrival met at reception by a lady who never smiled and made you feel like an inconvenience. Told your rooms there and basically threw the key at us. Went for a meal in the restaurant and the wrong food was rung through the till and charged (only spotted as I checked the receipt) I went to ask if we could have what we ordered and was told it was a mistake and the correct food was being cooked. I had to them ask for the difference to be refunded as what was rung through was more expensive to be told “we’ll you’re getting what you want” Basically made to feel guilty for asking for “my” money back!!!!
The room was booked with complimentary breakfast. When we went to have breakfast we ordered a full English and a vegetarian breakfast. When we sat down the staff member came over and told us it would be chargeable and when I said breakfast was included in the room- as per the booking- I was told yes but not anything cooked-continental only( this was not stipulated anywhere. Went to speak to the manager Andy who was the rudest man I’ve ever dealt with. As I was approaching reception I heard the lady who took the order slagging us off The contempt was unbelievable. He basically said tough and if you don’t like it leave. His defence was “you enjoyed your meal yesterday didn’t you?”
If I can save anyone from this awful establishment I will be happy

Generally very good but room cleaning each day seemed to be very inconsistent.

Great time. Older building so furniture somewhat dated but "premier inn" type furniture would be completely out of place. Quirky in a good way. Management and staff go out of there way to make you "feel at home"! Food fantastic and plentiful. Under new management so if you had a bad experience before I highly recommend you give it another try -- you will be pleasantly surprised. Would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room and possibly bottled water, but no big deal. We will return whenever we are in the area!!

A very comfortable 2night stay at this hotel. Set in an interesting architectural area and very close to several places to visit. We had a couple of issues with the room on arrival but they were quickly and efficiently sorted by the very helpful charming staff. The food was excellent particularly Sunday night dinner, breakfast was also good. Comfy bed and huge quirky rooms

I booked the suite for my partner and i for 3 nights and had the most comfortable and relaxing stay at The Roundabout Hotel. Despite a kitchen operational issue on the first nights stay that prevented any meals being able to be served, the hotel catered admirably over the remaining two days of our stay providing lovely meals despite the lack of and stove and oven.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and the room was very comfortable. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Decent hotel. Clean. Good food. Friendly staff.

The food was of a terrible standard but at least they didn’t charge for our mains and apologised

Terrible experience staying here. The door lock didn’t work, the shower didn’t work, the pillows were old and lumpy. The list goes on. When we reported concerns and complaints the staff simply told us they were already aware of the issues from previous complaints! Akin to Faulty Towers.

A beautiful building but in great need of updating in many areas. The rooms are very clean but dated and shabby.
An evening meal served was very good but breakfast was extremely poor - buffet very limited in choice & the cooked breakfast left a lot to be desired. Very few staff on duty.
All staff were very pleasant & hard working but it is very clear that some have received little training - unfortunately they are the ones that take the blame for everything! Which is extremely unfair.
This place has real potential but it needs a great deal of work to bring it up to scratch- really hope this can be achieved.

Lovely building and staff, only slight downside this visit is that they are laying new floor in one of the dining areas and hence was noisy during the early evening (6pm to 7.30 ish) with saws and what sounded like chisels. Hopefully this will be completed when we stay again.
