The room and facility alone were fine; also the evening staff mostly was decent. Daytime representative (pregnant female), however, was terrible. Worst attitude imaginable, is in dire need of an attitude adjustment. These things have an impact on one's overall experience, and in this case it is resulting in me rating this property with two stars instead of four. Hopefully I will never need to travel to Anchorage again, but if I do it is unlikely that I will stay at Puffin Inn again.

It’s an older hotel but kept up nice. Friendly staff. My room was very small but fine for just an overnight.

Dingy room. Very noisy and angry neighbors. Was in the outer motel rooms. Would have been tolerable for the price if wasn't for very thin walls and noise.

Pro: lobby and room were clean and well lit. Close to ANC Airport and there is a shuttle bus if needed. There were lots of nice Christmas lights.
Con: the room did not appear to have a functional heater, so it was chilly. The shower diverter valve is hidden under the water spout. The "breakfast" appears to be 85+% carbs. Almost everything on offer was consumed well before closing time and no one seemed to be restocking. So there might not be anything edible if you sleep past 0700.
Other than that it was a so so experience. With a little bit of effort the place has the potential to get better ratings.

Just a quick overnight before flying out on vacation. Comfortable and looks newly updated. The curtains didn’t fit quite right so a lot of light shone into the room from the outside hall lights. Other than that it’s a great stay!

staff (Jackie) was willing to change my room to make it easier to get to, no stairs cause I'm an older lady. Very pleasant about making changes for me. I loved that! This is very convenient for my travels in Alaska and convenient to the airport.

One night stay. Room was clean. I stay at this hotel every three weeks with business travel. Location is Quiet. close to food locations within walking distance.

I have stayed at other places in area, but came back to Puff (I've stayed here once b4 months ago). Staff is great. Rooms are clean. Hotel offers airport shuttle and is close to restaurants.
I will stay here again.

This is a cheap hotel near the airport. With that being said, as a Solo traveler the neighborhood that this is in is very questionable. The room it wasn't actually part of the hotel it was off of an annex it was on the side of the street that had a lot of traffic. Just understand when booking the cheaper rooms are not actually in the hotel. The carpet was disgusting it was so dirty not to mention there's no deadbolt lock on the door.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The room was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated the breakfast options, which included cereal, yogurt, bakery items, waffles, coffee, and both apple and orange juice. It was a great way to save on breakfast costs. Special shoutout to the manager, Amber, who is super friendly and really makes sure your stay is pleasant. I’ll definitely be staying here again! Oh and they provide shuttle to the airport !!

The room was as expected for the price though it definitely needed to be updated. Also the room was quite warm and the a/c did not cool it to a comfortable level.

Staff is nice enough and the building seems maintained but we had bed bugs in our room, so that was unpleasant to wake up to that in the middle of the night and have to deal with.

Nice rooms. Close to the airport, but very noisy. We didn’t sleep much at all because of the noise from the airport.

We arrived about 630pm. Only 1 of our 2 reserved rooms were ready. Once we did get the other room, both rooms were stale and stuffy, heaters in both rooms did not work, dark out curtains did very little to dim the bright lights outside. Taking showers, water was luke warm at best, no bath mat of any kind for when you got out and not slip reistant strip or safety bar for the step in tub showers. Outside traffic was very loud all night. Would not go back there

This hotel.is your average hotel. Nothing fancy but nothing extremely horrible. The obviously just remolded the bathrooms which was nice. The bed was comfortable but I wasn't completely convinced the sheets were washed. One pillow case had make up on it. Snd the sheets didn't feel crisp. The coffee msker was dirty and sticky snd the AC was crap. We only stayed one night. Which is what this hotel seems prefect for.

Excellent airport shuttle service, conveniently located. I stayed in the “old hotel”, room was basic yet sparkling clean and comfortable for a two night stay in transit. However, a big sized person might find the bathroom and shower a squeeze. A bonus was having a number of sining options available within walking distance. Would stay here again.

Our room was disguisting! There was hair everywhere and the toilet hadnt been cleaned so doubt the sheet had been changed. Very musty smell. Do not recommend.

The first economy room was something out of the 1950’s. Very old and small. Not clean not big enough for 2 people. I complained and got moved into a newer building but had to pay $78. 00 more. Definitely would not recommend.

Room was fine, could have been cleaner. but the water was not n when we checked in. That was resolved within a half hour, but then there wasn't any hot water. That too was finally resolved but only after we had gone to bed. Probably just bad luck on our part.

Everything was good! Except the window in my room didn’t open and it was stuffy, so I didn’t sleep well. And I don’t use air conditioning due to sensitive lungs. Too bad because the mattress was super!

The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was decently soft. Bathroom was quite small, and there wasn't much room in the shower, but clean. The curtains didn't cover the windows completely so it didn't feel very private, and you could hear neighbors and people outside easily.

We got a cramped 2 bedroom room in what had to be a basement. Shower was cold. The window opened onto grass with a sidewalk and road only a few feet away Canceled my return reservations and booked somewhere else at a less price.

The room was far too hot. I opened the window and traffic noise was very loud. I could hear next door snoring and sleep talking all night which kept me awake

Surprised to find the bathroom sink in the bedroom area. Bathroom was very small! Big thick pillows are uncomfortable for most of us.

Booked for the convenience but later learned that there is no airport shuttle after 11:00 p.m. Rooms were shabby with a musty odor; in one, the bedside outlets didn't work and curtains didn't hang/close properly. Would not recommend.

The property is an older one and apparently we stayed in the oldest section. Very small room, no phone, no bathroom ventilation, paint chipping and peeling of the exterior walls all along the catwalk which we had to use to reach out room. No bathmat, carpet worn out, etc.
During the night about each thirty minutes, doors would open and slam shut. This started about midnight with last episode around 4:00 A.M. It seemed very curious almost as if a secondary business was operating with frequent check in and checkout times.
The blueberry muffins were good.

My Kindle was left behind and the Puffin Inn found it but refused to return it to me.

No towel racks or hooks in the bathroom to hang a wet towel.
Room was around back under a stairway in a somewhat isolated area. Parking lot had warnings that the hotel was not responsible for theft or damage to your car.
Carpet was worn and dirty.
I asked to move to a safer area and was told it would be an additional $120.00.

Facility & Rooms need to be refreshed for this high price of nightly stay. We ran into a couple from the east coast at dinner and they commented that they were in a fleabag hotel. We asked where and turns out they were next door to us.
