The location was great. Some staff was very nice other staff was short and curt. I would recommend it for location and walkability. Breakfast was pretty good. However, we left five clothing items in the room accidentally upon departure. We called back 5 hours after we had departed to see if they had located the items. The answering machine apparently does not work since the front desk said they never received the 3 messages we had left after we departed... it is difficult to call and talk to a live person, but we called approximately six or seven times over two days leaving messages and talking to live people, but they were never able to locate our items. It was all our fault for leaving them but shocking that they were not able to locate the items after we gave them our room number and time/date we had checked out. So the location was very good but do not leave any items behind.

This small hotel is right in the midst of Older Key west. Short distance to Mallory Square. or going the other way to the Wharf. Charming .

Very pleased with our stay. Quiet yet close to everything. Nice pool and good coffee in the morning.

The Heron House is a delightful escape in the heart of Old Town. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities that we needed. The property is a slice of tropical paradise. We were able to walk easily to all the places we wanted to go. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here in future.

Absolutely amazing! The only negative about this stay was we booked only 4 days. The staff at Heron House was some of the kindest people we have met. From tbe office to the breakfast person, as well as cleaning staff. We left today already planning our next visit.

Stay was great but breakfast is definitely not ready at 8am. We had to leave by 8:15 and the women would not let me in and very rude.

The good: location! A great property, rooms, pool, serene ambiance. The not so good: We arrived on site after an early morning flight around 8:30am, not expecting to checkin, but appreciating that they offerred a phone call when our room was ready. Even popped in at 1pm and Patrick reassured me he would call. No call. Nothing. Just not very considerate after a long day of traveling.

We stayed at the Heron House over the weekend. First impressions of the grounds were very positive, the pool seemed clean and the environment well maintained. The clerk (forgot his name) was able to get us in a little early and that was very much appreciated. Once in the room, we found it dated and in some need of repair. The room itself was pretty big and that was nice. The lighting was poor and rather confusing as we couldn't figure out what worked what. Small detail but the shampoo and conditioner were not labeled so you had to figure that out. It's seemingly the simple things that can be fixed... The breakfast was continental and not overwhelming but a really nice touch. Really close to Duval and it was quiet which we liked. We stayed in room 46

Perfect location! We've stayed in a lot of places in KW and this is the first one I'd stay in again. Roomy, great pool, free cat to pet, what more can you ask for!

Property was conveniently located for dining and the Key West theater.

Property is in a great location. However, our room had no running water in the bathroom sink and was never rectified and the sitting area outside and inside our room was full of tiny spiders. Staff was great and otherwise helpful. Resort needs some serious maintenance.

I've stayed here, at Heron House, 4 or 5 times before. It's always been a great value, just a block off Duval St in Key West, in a funky little resort. This time Tropical Storm Debbie came through August 2024 and the Key West Express Ferry to Fort Myers was cancelled, so we needed to stay 3 more days. The staff was super helpful, gave me a great deal on the additional 3 days. I'll be back again. Only issue is the beds are like sleeping on plywood, however that won't keep me away. Thank you!

Enjoyed the pool area as it was a great place to relax and cool down during the heat of the afternoon. We didn't care for the lack of parking at the Heron House. Having to drive around the adjoining area looking for non-pay to park streets or spaces that don't require a resident permit was a bit of a hassle. The email we received after booking indicated that we would be directed to free parking areas but the person who checked us in didn't seem to have a good idea of where to find them. Once parked we didn't have to use the car until we left. Other guests who stayed there didn't feel this was an issue.

It was a very nice property. It was really cozy and had the small feel to it. The location is awesome. I walked to about every place I wanted to go to all five days I was there.

We liked it here. The pool is small but it was never crowded. The staff was great and the location was perfect. It is right off Duvall and perfectly situated. We didnt spend a whole lot of time in the hotel, but the time we did spend was good. Our main complaint was the window AC in the room was undersizex and really struggled to keep up in the Late July heat! The room never really got cold but just barely comfortable to warm.

Everything was wonderful! We will be back!

Wonderful place perfect location!

We fell the front staff was rude. He seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and was not helpful at all. We asked for pillows because ours were hardy as rocks and we were rudely told they didn’t have any more. We asked if there were umbrellas for the pool area and he rudely answered back “No, insurance doesn’t allow us”. I asked him if they had sugar free creamer at the coffee bar outside and he rudely replied “No”. The rooms didn’t have coffee makers, the shampoo/conditioner weren’t labeled so we had no idea what it was. The water never got hot. The stairs are steep to the second level rooms so I caution anyone with bad knees or disabilities. The property needs some repair. There was wood rot on the stairs and other places around the property, the once beautiful water feature doesn’t work. I was surprised that there was no coffee in the rooms. Our stay at The Cabana Inn was much more accommodating and the staff was very friendly. I was hopeful that this would be a great place but I was very disappointed. Location was good.

The place was great, beautiful. We loved how close to Duval street. The parking is awful you have to find a place to park either away from the place or pay to park. Great pool, breakfast that’s included was very nice. Staff very friendly. I would stay again for sure

Such a great property and definitely gave off Key West vibes! We stayed here for one night a really liked the fact that it was so close to everything but also just far enough away to offer a quiet place to go back to at the end of the night. Definitely recommend!
