One night only but was out for most of the evening. Dined in the restaurant where service was prompt up to main course as we arrived after 9pm and ‘the kitchen was closing’. After main course was served, restaurant staff disappeared and the only staff were those using the restaurant as a thoroughfare on their way home off shift (presumably banqueting staff) who didn’t look left or right in case someone asked them something…. Which I did try to do. Eventually got service to finish off our meal.
Room was fine even though it was overlooking a service yard and breakfast was tasty with a good selection of continental items and hot buffet

The staff was wonderfully warm and helpful, especially Catherine at reception. She was incredibly helpful to us with travel information.

The hotel room itself was fairly clean but the ratings on Hotel.com gives it a 4.4 rating. The carpeting throughout the hotel is extremely old and it is very dated. It was fairly quiet throughout the night and it is convenient to the Shannon airport. If you want a place to stay for the night before flying out then this is the place. The room did not have air conditioning and it was my oversight not noticing that. I believe it is a very overpriced hotel stay for the condition of the establishment.

Really friendly welcome, we arrived wet and 3 hours early for our room this was not an issue for the hotel as our room was ready and we were allowed to go and get dry and head out into limerick for the evening. Food was fabulous try the Singapore noodles.

An absolutely gorgeous hotel with spacious rooms, nicely appointed, and a tremendous staff. There is nothing I would change.

It is not the fault of the staff, but of the design of the shower. It is elevated and flat with a smooth surface and was slippery. Water poured out into the bathroom area and soaked the carpet near the door.
The bar staff was not up to par. My daughter and I sat there for nearly 10 minutes waiting for the 2 young women to come take our order. I actually had to wave one over. I wondered how long they would have made us wait if I hadn't. Also, we asked for a food menu and waited and waited until asking again. The bartender (a male this time) at least told us that he'd forgotten.

We had a good stay overall. Clean, quiet, convenient. Appreciated the complimentary breakfast. Only problem was when we checked in we were given an already occupied room. Fortunately the guests were not there or it could have been extremely awkward.

It was far too warm in our room and the provided fan was not sufficient to cool it for sleeping. There was too much noise outside to leave the window open, so sleeping was quite a challenge.

Stayed many times at this property. Noisy depending on room location. Staff are nice when they’re in the mood to be. The pub has a nice patio. More suited for one night stays to catch a flight or tourist buses visiting Clare. Breakfast buffet needs improvement. Good parking. Walkable to a few spots in Shannon. Not suited for long stays.

Perfectly adequate for a night or two. Rooms and furniture are a bit dated now and I noticed in my room there were some issues with the walls with pain peeling in certain areas. Bathrooms were fine. Beds were comfy and the room amenities were good. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

The staff were extremely nice and hospitable. The room was basic which was fine we were only stating one night. The restaurant food was pricey and not the best but I am picky when it comes to food so maybe other people enjoyed it. Overall the hotel was fine but the staff were the highlight of the stay thank you.

FANTASTIC!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! an hour before check-in we added another person to our room. The gentleman at the front desk was VERY accomodating! He remembered our name when we checked-in, and out, was super friendly, and a pleasure to chat with! Our room was a family room and it was HUGE! The beds were comfortable, the food in the restaurant was very good! WE WOULD LOVE TO RETURN!!

The reception area is clean and well-maintained. The same unfortunately cannot be said for the rooms.
The first room we were assigned had bugs crawling on the bedsheets, and stains down the walls. We were promptly assigned another room, but this was also not the cleanest.
The breakfast was rather underwhelming too. You get what you pay for I suppose.
Definitely wouldn't stay again, unless desperate.

Everything was excellent - except for one thing. They don't have a bar! What hotel doesn't have a bar? Perhaps I'm being unfair but they do have a bar that sits inside a restaurant. You have to wait for a table even if you just want a drink. Daft. I reduced one star because of it.

Was not what I was expecting, was in an old room that was boiling hot all night. Bathroom tap was broken, water was tepid. Not really impressed.

The Oakwood was delightful - from the atmosphere and surroundings, down to the room and staff. Had everything we needed and made for an easy and enjoyable stay. Would definitely book again!! Plus breakfast was delicious.

Kathrine in reception was superb, she catered for my mums mobility issues by putting is in an accessible room near the entrance. The other reception staff were so nice and the breakfast was amazing. Slept like a log and rooms beautiful. So happy, couldn’t recommend enough.
