Did not really like this hotel. There was no help with bags, no elevator, and the bar/lounge was only three doors down from room. Could hear the music loud and clear. I would not stay there again.

I had a stay with Hotel Shelley booked for April 26, 2024 until April 29th, 2024. I was giving room number 217 for my stay. The first night was okay, but the second night I began to see bugs. I went to the front desk and the clerk Jefferson was very helpful as I informed him that there were bugs in my room and in my bed. He took his time to get all of the bugs out of my bags for my birthday guest. Being that they were in the bags. I was unable to give my guest their gifts at my birthday dinner. The next day the bugs took over they were all in my bed, luggage, the lamp shade, and all throughout the room. I went back to the front desk and Jefferson informed me that he did not have any rooms available. Later that night I went back to the room and there were even more. There was no way possible that I was going to spend my money and sleep there. I went back to the front desk by this time shifts had changed and a young lady was able to assist me, by this time it's was 2am in the morning. I informed her that I would have to find another hotel to stay or sleep in my car. The since of urgency was not there, and when patronizing a business you expect more. I do not understand why they felt it was not urgent to sleep in a bed full of bugs. The customer service is horrible. I have been working nearly a month to contact the manager. I was finally emailed back the other day and was told that there policies are non refundable .

My room was extremely dirty like nobody ever cleaned maybe whipped the mirrors but that all it was all type of things on my sheets I didn’t want to sleep in the room but had nowhere else to go at last minute and they wouldn’t switch me to another one of they hotels the hotel didn’t have no elevator and they put us on the 3rd floor service was very unacceptable I would not recommend this hotel at all keys wouldn’t work so I had to go over to whitelaw where the front desk was before I go to the room for them to make a new key no phone in the room and you can not get in touch with any one to call for help you just gotta walk over to whitelaw for everything

the first night was nice, clean and enjoy.. the next day the hot water went out, shower leaked to downstairs area and entire room had a “pee” smell the remaining of the stay.

The most convenient aspect is the price. You have to go across the street to a different hotel to check in, get towels, ice and we had to get new keys everyday because they mess up and stop working. Room service did not come. And there’s NO ELEVATOR. No coffee maker or way to make tea in the room. You can use a pool at their sister location if you’re willing to walk 30 minutes. So, basically, a lot of inconveniences for the convenient price. Other than that, our room did seem pretty clean, towels are pretty good and place is decorated kinda cute. I don’t think it’s worth the hassle 😂

The hotel has no elevator so you have to walk up flights of stairs there isn’t anyone at the front desk or any service staff available when you need things like towels and or ice, so I just kept going behind a bargain it myself

The fixtures needed updating, shower handle was almost inoperable, sink was tucked under a shelf where it was difficult to turn the water on and off. The sink was cracked.
My friend in room 203 had a water leak from her fridge and the music from the bar was so loud she couldn;t sleep.

It was disgusting. Hair EVERYWHERE. The floor wasnt even swept let alone mopped. There was disgusting hair everywhere. Its dingy and dusty and smells bad, the doors dont work, couch is filthy. Hair all over the bed. They dont launder their stuff very well, TV is a joke and all fuzzy. Ugh i get the creeps just thinking about it. RUN!!!!!

Too noisy because of the Bar on the lounge ,can’t sleep ,all the smock goes to the rooms.TV only 1 channel was working Wi-fi terrible the shower head not installed right the water was spraying all over ,towels I think they don’t use Downey so hard I did spoke with the front desk they did nothing about ,, I will never returned and I will not recommend to anyone

We needed to switch rooms as the shower and tv were both not functioning properly. The second room shower and toilet were also not functioning properly. Just an inconvenience for my family stay.

To begin with there is no check in desk at the property.There is a bar in the main lobby that opens at 5pm and will remain open well past 2am if there are clients.I had to contact the hotel to request a room upgrade prior to the trip but it was not easy.If you call the main hotel Shelley no one answers the phone if you contact the hotel management group by phone they make you email them and it takes them more than 24 hours to respond.When I finally arrived for check in I got to my room on the first floor a few doors away from the bar and the room was stuffy and moist and had an odor of mold.The air conditioner was not working and just pushed around the bad air.Any time it would turn on there was little bugs flying in the room, I tried to give it a pass because we’re near the ocean but as the days progressed the moisture level and odor in the room increased.I woke up extremely congested every morning and essentially wet because of how damp it was in the room.On the 3rd night of the stay I requested a room change the hotel employee came into the room to make sure that the room indeed was as I had stated and before walking into the room she noticed and said oh yes I’ll put in a request for room change but there was nothing they could do for the night.The following morning we were changed to a room on the 3rd floor and it turned out that the hotel does not have any visible elevator access so we had to carry our bags up.Requesting refund they offered an insulting $100.

Good place to stay if you’re just looking for a place to pass out and shower right on South Beach around everything you need could walk to adjust about everywhere hotel did have a little musty smell to it but me and my friend stayed for a weekend for her birthday and we had a good time And it did suffice for what we needed a place to crash and a place to shower I’m from New York so to me, the hotel was average

Staff were friendly and efficient, quick check in process! Although you had to check in across the street, and the day we checked in it was very busy party night so the music was way too loud and made it hard to hear the staff.

Convenient, close to Ocean Drive with lots of restaurants and access to the beach. Quiet and clean, very friendly staff.
The only negative is no luggage storage and early check out at 11am (I was able to extend by 1 hour without extra charge)

There is no elevator at this hotel, so if you are staying on the third floor, you have to bring all your luggage up the stairs on your own. They do not offer help with luggage.
You have to check in at the hotel across the street and anything you need from Staff you have to contact them across the street. at one point our hot water wasn't working, and I was calling for 15 minutes and they didn't answer, so I had to get dressed and go across the street to talk to them. When I told them that I was calling for 15 minutes, they said they don't answer the phone if they are checking someone in.
The hotel room is very old, the doors do not align so they are visible cracks to peek into the room. That being said there is no sound for thing so you can hear everything that happens in the hallway. There are no curtains to block out the light from outside blinds so it is very bright all through the night because the neighbors lights are on all night. The hot water in the shower is installed incorrectly, so you have to learn the trick to get the hot water to work, which is illogical to most people.
In the end, I would not stay here. I would pay $40 more to go stay at a normal hotel or you can have a hot shower and sleep in peace.

It’s great for a fly-by-night stay. It’s conveniently priced and is in a great location. You can walk to anywhere you want to be. We stayed on the 1st floor this time, I wouldn’t next time because of the music and the constant talking and bumping going on at the bar that can potentially go on until 2a-5a. We stayed on the 3rd floor the first time and all of that was not an issue. The rooms were kind of clean, but not pristine. I would stay again if it was for one night only.

The keycards to our room would not work even after multiple trips to get them reprogrammed, and you have to go downstairs and across the street to the Chesterfield in order to talk to an employee. The toilet in the unit was also not working when we tried to use it in the morning.

There is not a front desk attendant at this property. You have to walk across the street to the partner hotel for information, beach towels etc.
The bar was being renovated and opened our first night there - it’s a beautiful bar and the owner is wonderful - was the best part of our stay.

If you can get past the smell of the carpet on the stairs, you will get to an "acceptable" room. No insulation against noise. If they just ripped up the carpet, they would see a huge improvement.

Hotel was an older hotel, if you have any allergies or respiratory issues you might want to reconsider. The air circulation is poor even with the air condition on. It does smell of mold. I’m sure due to the humidity but I struggle with respiratory issues and this was an issue for me. The plumbing is old and the hot water is not very hot. The beds are comfortable and it’s walking distance to the beach and many shops. No one is ever at the front desk until 11 PM.

Bad and greedy hotel. Worst hotel in south beach. You can do better with any other hotel there.
Staff and maids acted like they didnt get paid enough to care, floor behind bed had not been swept in weeks, staff acted bored and barely paid attention when I had a question, key cards did not work and staff kept thinking I was not swiping it correctly.
But the worst thing was the additional charge of $85.50 when I arrived at the property which was totally out of nowhere and undisclosed on the orbitz listing. I am currently disputing the charge. I have never had this kind of additional charge, in south beach, or anywhere.

Check in across the street. Walked into Hotel Shelley, the bar area is storage for old junk. The former check in counter is additional storage. The whole hotel smells like a musty basement. The room was clean, but also smelled musty. The TV has 2 channels. Overall, the place has the look & feel of the worst motel in your town. If you would stay at the worst motel / hotel in your town, you’ll enjoy this place. If not, keep looking at others in the area.
