Stay was good.No elevator was the only thing I didn’t expect . Breakfast included but unable to tell about it.

At the beginning I was given a room with a king size bed which was not what I had reserved but this was fixed quickly. Thankfully moving us had not caused a problem as I had reserved a room with 2 queen beds for the 4 of us. The staff was very nice, the room was clean and the pool and hot tub were good. Breakfast was cereal, waffles, bagels and English muffins. It also included coffee, tea, and juice.

I was charged way to much then what i was quoted and he claimed i did not reserve a room. I had my itinerary number and that still didnt make a difference. I will no longer make reservations with them.

Both stairwells had men (staff?) just sitting in the stairwells talking on cell phones for a very long time. It wasn't disruptive or threatening, but just seemed... odd.
On the positive side, the room was clean and the towels were extra fluffy.

Very nice, modern decor in the room. Modern flat screen TV, large bathroom vanity and mirror. Management has thought carefully about the property. Example--iron and ironing board in the room in addition to the hair dryer. The breakfast area was very clean as was the entire site.

A last minute trip with hubby- lucky to find a place in Tawas. Pleasantly surprised about every aspect of our 2 night stay and we typically stay at higher end hotels.
it was comfortable, quiet, clean, updated. Our only issue was with the TV remote, and card keys not working in far entrance. Helpful front desk staff.
Might suggest if going with the auto dispensers for soaps, they work to dispense better/more. Thanks.

There was no maid service. If you wanted clean towels, you had to bring your dirty towels to the front desk. The beds and pillows were very hard. The bed linens and towels were very worn. I would have expected much more from a hotel charging over $200 per night.

Trip was to visit old friends and places we enjoyed when we lived in the area several years ago. We found the Bay Inn was a perfect fit for us.

Cons: found insect bugs (not bed bugs) in daughter’s bed. She killed one and it smeared green guts on the sheet. I mean. We’re up north so….do what ya gotta do. But. I could do without the bugs.

Our bathroom definitely needed some love. The tub had weird spots as if someone started to refinish it but didn’t. The ceiling fan was poorly put in and had tissue sticking out of it to fill in the gaps. The toilet handle was by far the weirdest and made me nervous it was going to overflow anytime you flushed it. Mostly cosmetic but for $200 a night I would expect it to look less like a motel.
Breakfast was not great. The Nutella packets they had our expired in February of 2024. The cereal was stale. We opted to get our own the next day. Very basic options for breakfast and most items were out.
Overall stay was okay, but I’ve stayed here before and it definitely wasn’t as disappointing last time which was why I chose this over others but I may be exploring options soon.

Check in was greeted by a very lively person who answered all of our questions! She was extremely a sunshine and positive person to welcome us! She was knowledgeable about the area. This morning she was sunshine again and helpful again!

Hotel was dark and outdated. Rooms were darker outdated as well. Hot tub was stagnant. Pool had visible dirt all over the bottom of it. Checked in, checked out the pool area and went to check out the room. Immediately found another hotel and left. Wasn’t there longer than 10 minutes and didn’t even bring our bags in. When I called to cancel our booking, I was charged $350 being told there is no cancelling of reservations. It’s was absolutely disgusting and I was still charged for “cancelling” was told my card will be charged and then within 30 days I would get my money back for the room charge only. That’s over $1000 on my card for up to 30 days because the hotel was so disgusting and dirty I wouldn’t keep my child there. Absolutely ridiculous! Never again!

The Bay Inn was ok. Enjoyed the hottub. Room was clean. First morning I stayed the breakfast had no eggs but the second morning they had boiled eggs. Makes all the difference to me to have eggs. Overall was ok.

We arrived into town about 1:00pm and I was told we could not get an early check in at all, even though there were many open rooms from the previous night that would not have to be cleaned in the morning. The bed was very uncomfortable. The place was clean and location was nice. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub but you have to get towels from the front desk, which we didn’t see posted anywhere.

Staff friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable. Bathroom clean, tub stained. Room looked recently painted. Dry wall had tears around light fixture, some furniture was in rough shape. Headboard had thick layer of dust. For the price we slept comfortably and appreciated a clean bathroom. I booked because it had a 8.7 rating, and find that deceptive.

I stayed here while doing some birding and photography at nearby Tawas Point State Park. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and the room was comfortable. I had a pleasant stay.
