The room had a murphy bed which pulled down from the wall ... it was very uncomfortable. Kind of like sleeping on a pull out couch. When making a reservation this should be communicated. Not happy that there wasn't a normal bed in the room. Deceiving for sure.

Enjoyed being at the property generally speaking. It wasn't as grand as I was expecting...entrance blah, lobby blah, self parking confusing. Staff was very kind and helpful, food was good, but VERY expensive. Location a bit remote for a summetime visit to Big Sky, would be great for a winter ski trip though.

The remodel or refresh of the units is fine, not high quality you would expect for a resort. The pool/gym were closed, if we had known we would have choose a different property that had that onsite, they expected us to walk to other properties to enjoy those amenities at one of there oldest properties it the same experience I choose price and amenities wise. They don’t offer parking in the lot in front, you can pay for valet or park and walk across the entire resort to get to this property.

The setting is stunning and the property itself is beautiful and in good condition. The pool was under renovation but guests could use the pool at another hotel. Unfortunately, that other hotel’s pool is only 3-feet deep! We use pools for exercise when we travel. This pool was a complete joke. We hope the new pool at the Summit will be at least 6-feet deep, so guests can swim and tread water for exercise. It is awesome at this altitude and after a day on the mountain. Not having a pool in which to work out was also a major disappointment to one of us—recovering from a broken bione with water therapy— who was not able to walk far. We were otherwise able to hike from the hotel, which was wonderful. The location is perfect.
Our biggest issue was the rudeness and snippiness of the staff. We were exhausted after a long trip when we pulled up to the hotel to check in and were verbally assaulted by the cowboy-hatted valets who insisted the law required they get our car key immediately, that the law demanded it (what law?) and that only they could touch our bags. This happened before one of us even had a chance to get out of the car and walk into the lobby to register for our stay!
Our every interaction with the valets was terrible. We were treated like trespassers, not polite and clean travelers who were paying good money to stay at the hotel. They bullied us from the moment we drove up to the curb, and until we left the hotel. They need customer-service training & basic civility.

The room was great, and the hotel is beautiful. Several restaurants in the area were closed for renovations since summer is their off season, but we still enjoyed our stay and loved all of the small touches (especially the pillow mist!)
Only down side was the parking is not close, so if you have a lot of luggage you have no choice but to valet.

Amazing views and great hotel. The parking situation is very strange and there is no bedroom.

Courtney the manager really shined and helped us out while we were there, can’t say enough about the great staff at The Summit!

The property is simply lovely! The rooms are spacious, clean and have all the amenities one would desire. Everything was amazing except for the parking.

Only parking for hotel is 1/2 mile away so plan to pay for valet parking. Our HVAC in our room did not work so it was hot and stuffy. The bed was a wall pull down bed. Not comfortable and they only gave us 2 very flat pillows. Beautiful area and staff are very friendly.

We loved every minute here! The restaurants, the room, service, the housekeeping, the Bell staff, every staff person we met, the ski valet, the convenience of everything nearby, even the laundry facilities were amazing! We couldn’t be more happy

Peak restaurant was great and service was great as well

Beds need updating. We stayed in unit with pull down murphy bed and found the mattress extremely bouncy. A newer foam mattress would be much better

I waffled for months between the Montage and Summit after double booking both -- I realize different price points but I'm loathe to pay Montage prices for subpar service and food (per several friends who had stayed recently). SO glad we chose the Summit. Would go back in a heartbeat.
The pros:
- Location, location, location. TRUE ski-in, ski-out with terrific ski valets who even walked my skis up the (very) little slope. Two fast, heated, covered lifts right outside. Many varied and excellent dining options within a 3-min walk.
- Accommodations were fine, rooms seemed updated recently. Not the height of luxury but good enough. Showers had good water pressure. Thermostats weren't very responsive but fine for us as we like our rooms on the cool side.
- Excellent service. The people everywhere, from the front desk to restaurant staff to the ski valets, housekeeping, etc were friendly, attentive and efficient. Notably good for post-Covid service.
- Coordination with ski rental, etc was AWESOME. They met us in our room with boots, helmets, lift tickets, etc right after check-in. Skis were waiting for us at the valet the next morning. SO convenient.
- We really enjoyed the Chophouse for dinner and the Carabiner was a good place for apres ski.
Cons:
- The kitchen in our suite didn't have a fry pan. Asked for one but it was never delivered. We managed.
- Spa is in another building.
- Laundry facilities, though free with free detergent, are not en suite.

I can’t say enough great things about this hotel! The location is perfect & the staff is exceptional! My husband and I met on a chairlift 34 years ago and just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary! The staff went the extra mile and left a special note in our room with a cute snow globe and champagne with 2 gorgeous glasses. Deann at the reception desk was incredibly helpful, even helping us move rooms to a larger bed (double bed was too small for us). Thank you all for going the extra mile. We will definitely be back!

The hotel is fabulous; great location and unbelievably friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend.

For the first time ever, I got a room with a Murphy Bed. The pleasure of paying over $600 per night for a Murphy Bed cannot be understated.
It looks like the room was designed to be a 1 for a family rather than a real hotel room. In fact, I had a bird's ear view to both the conversation happening in the next room and the kids knocking on my door on the adjoining room. It was an exceptional disappointment. As in "this is one of the absolute worst hotel experiences I can ever remember" disappointed. On a Tuesday!
If I should ever return to the Summit, I will be sure to make sure I do not get a room with a bed that folds down from the wall. Be sure to do the same.
All that said, the setting and staff were lovely. They brought this review up from 1 star to 3.
Overall, it was a MASSIVE disappointment.

Wonderful view of Lone Peak from our 7th floor window and the steps away from the Ramcharger eight and Swift Current six ski lifts.
5.0
As a ski in/ski out property, it was literally just steps from the lifts. Ski valet is also right there and extremely convenient. Staff was very nice. loved the breakfast in the restaurant, good drinks at bar, shower was amazing, TV options were great, storage in the room was the best we've seen in a ski resort hotel. For negatives, just 2 things: most importantly, the pillows are ATROCIOUS! Asked at front desk for anything else - different kind, different ones in general - to no avail. We all had to stuff bath towels, sweatshirts, Patagonia puffers, etc in order to sleep at all. To spend $7000 on a week for the hotel stay and need to STUFF your pillow is ridiculous. They are about 12 inches by 12 inches square and about 2 inches thick - all 8 in the room were the exact same. Not one of us could sleep without at least a towel, sweatshirt and a puffer coat folded and stuffed in the pillow case. Last, the self park lot was about a 10 minute cold, dark walk from the hotel. Valet was available for $35/night or something - if you can do it, it's worth it because that walk was not fun. Overall, it was a great stay but seriously, pack your own pillow or extra clothes to stuff the case with or your sleep will be miserable!

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the bell station attendant were very hospitable. We will be staying there again soon.!

Everything was great except the beds! For such a nice resort, you’d think the beds and mattresses would be nicer. Both beds in our room felt very cheap and the mattresses were terrible! Other than that, no complaints!

Third yr in a row for late summer stay. I love the rivers & wife loves the mountains & shops

A lovely stay with great attentive staff! The pool was the very best part!
The Murphy bed in the room was a surprise. Not the most comfortable and an inconvenience to move furniture out of the way.
The feee parking is the Big Sky Mr parking lot that .4 miles away, unlit and unpaved parking lanes.

The location is excellent. Great views of the mountains. The village area is very nice. There was a big bike race so that was fun to watch. Room had a murphy bed and it was the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on. So soft and flimsy. Also the free parking lot is a solid 10 minute walk from the hotel or you can pay to valet. Not ideal as it’s the farthest hotel from the parking lot. But loved the location and was what I was hoping it would be other than bed and parking.

I loved the staff. They were kind, helpful, joyful, and just awesome. The rooms were nice as well. My only wish is that all the fun stuff stayed open later than 5! :)

LOVE this hotel. Wish there was a sauna. Outside of the hotel, perhaps not part of the hotel itself was a hot dog stand that says they charge 4.75 for a combo meal, but 2 combo meals was $26. When I pointed that out, the guy said "hot dogs were 4.75 back in the 1990s". That was weird. They opened at 11:30am, on a Tuesday, and I was 5th in line. It took 32 minutes to get 2 hot dog combos. That was a big downer, but not part of the exact hotel. Summit Hotel was great and the people were VERY friendly and helpful throughout. Very nice hotel.

Manager called the night before we were scheduled to check out and said they put us in the incorrect room. Then asked us to vacate the room. We refused as we had been there for 3 nights.. . Also had issues with housekeeping getting our room serviced. For what you pay to stay here, you really should expect more. Unfortunate really since the location of the hotel is the best on the mountain.
