It was a nice place but our room was up 3 1/2 flights of stairs and due to medical issues it was difficult to go up and down the stairs multiple times

First, let me say that the hotel was amazing. It was very clean and had a lot of history. They did not have any fans in the room. The air conditioning worked well. They have zero control of the people in the area, it is what it is. They did make us feel safe by having a digital key on our phone that let us in the front door. The staff was amazing and so nice. We would definitely stay here again.

An historical hotel 1 block from Burbon st for less than a night at the Days inn....comfortable and with 19th century charm. The rooms are small but thats what you get from a 200 year old hotel. The convenient location overcomes any small issues that may arise. It is located in a perfect spot, 1 block from Burbon st yet the room is quiet. There is secured parking (for a fee) and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I recommend highly.

Great location, the room was very nice pretty. But the toilet was old and discolored, the shower had mold and mildew in the grout tile and metal bracing. And sink was clogged.

This is the sixth time I stayed at Hotel Royal. I hadn’t been there since the pandemic so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it lived up to its previous expectations. If you need a fridge, call ahead and ask for it before they place you in a room. Other than that, the housekeepers come a little bit early for being in the quarter. Hotel room was very clean, we got towels when we needed them, there’s ice machine to keep stuff cold. They use a digital key system, but you can get a fob by request, but if you lose it, it’s $50.

Only down side is the fire hydrants kept getting turned on near the hotel which totally depletes the water in the room. No beuno if you are in the middle of a shower....

Parking isn’t “available.” There is one place around the corner with room for about 8-10 cars. If spaces are filled there, you have to go to a hotel blocks away, which also fills up.
The balcony is shared with another room and very close.
Rooms are clean but sparse. Not worth the money.

Room we remted wasnt in service when we checked in.....room they stuck us in the ac didnt work so moved to a 3rd room in the very tip top and had so many stairs to climb it wasnt funny....only thing they comped for all the hassle was our parking

So this trip was a couples trip for my birthday. The stay was pretty decent. Definitely far enough away from Burbon to have a good night's rest after partying. The room was small would go with the balcony room for more space. It was definitely an older hotel you can tell its been remodeled. But overall it was decent for the price and location would book again with Hotel Royal.

Quiet and beautiful property with a convenient location in the French quarter. Walkable distance to nearby just see locations. The staff was also always friendly and helpful!

Our room was just very dusty, other than that everything was great.

No elevator! I realize the property is old but you had to climb up stairs, then down and back up stairs to get to our room in the back of the property. No fun wagging two 47 lb suitcases for my wife and I at age 64. They need a staff member to do this and a property description stating no elevator.
Would stay here again but only on the ground floor!
