Was very impressed with the price point for the quality of the hotel. Check in staff was very friendly and so many restaurants and shops were walking distance. Would easily stay here again.

Room was nice, perfect size for my small family. Bed was comfy. We did see a few ants sneaking around in the room, but once squashed presented no further issues

The room overall was nice and I had a pleasant stay. The decor is a little dated and I didn’t like the comfort of the mattress but that is subjective to everyone’s personal preferences. I was still able to sleep and get ready for the next day without feeling groggy. The room was very clean and had all the amenities needed inside. A desk, table for eating, tv, microwave, and fridge.

Good overall, but there is a noisy pool repair in the morning.
Also when we attempted to use microwave - power to TV, fridge and microwave oven turned off.. Called office - they turned some switch back on. Then in less than a minute the same power outage. Repeated - and it worked this time. Manager said that too many rooms were trying to use microwave simultaneously:)

The rooms need to have better quality beds and bedding in general as well as warm blankets I had to leave the heater on all night because it was freezing inside. Also egg for breakfast would be nice instead of just oatmeal, fruit and pastry some type of protein for breakfast please

Sandpiper is nice...priced reasonably. It is clean and fairly quiet. Continental breakfast is very limited. The only real drawback was the slow wifi and 0-1 bar reception on my phone. Maybe because I was on the ground floor under a stairway. If the price was low enough I'd stay here again.

Sandpiper Lodge is an older hotel but has a feel to it as being down home and family like. This is my place to stay in Santa Barbara.

Hotel is a bit dated and run down but was otherwise clean and comfortable.
A/C in our room leaked water into the carpet immediately underneath the wall unit. It also ran constantly despite the room getting to below the desired temperature. Not a big deal given the temperatures while we stayed here, but could be an issue at other times of the year.
Breakfast and pool were both good. Surrounding area also had a number of restaurants in a very short walk. Would recommend Sun Sushi (if you can get a table).

The only criticism we had was the lack of wall outlets near our bed for cpaps and phone chargers. Fortunately, we travel with extension cords. The internet connection was also unreliable and we were told by other guests that this was a problem they also experienced. The property is clean, well maintained and secure.

The room, pool area, and breakfast lounger were all clean and well stocked. Staff was friendly and responsive.
Notes: breakfast was your basic carb load, but its available from 630 to 10am, so thats helpful. Only 1 parking spot per guest is included with each room.

You cannot beat this location and the value. If you were looking for a reasonably priced option in a very very expensive area this is perfect. Yes it looks a bit older and dated, but we were incredibly impressed by how well maintained and clean everything was. Really grateful for this option and will definitely use again if we ever come back. We were here for a wedding and very happy with our decision to stay here.
