Slow check in/out but easy, free valet parking and pretty good room, though a little aged. Good aircon and bed. Ineffective blackout curtains don’t accomplish anything - see photo.

Beds are very comfortable and the rooms are decent size. All in all a nice hotel, especially compared with other hotels in Belem.
One thing to mind is that the reception staff wasn´t very efficient and seemed to lack interest. The restaurant is too expensive for what it actually serves. Look elsewhere.

Hotel had almost all amenities of a good hotel, but there were not very good. For example: gym equipment were old and basically not much equipment for a decent workout. Air conditioner was off most of the time and when on did not really cool down exercise room. Also, room service was poor. Items used up not replenish (like soap, water, etc). Not a good selection of food at hotel and food service was average at best including menu. Hotel personnel, although polite, was not very knowledgeable to inform guests about restaurants, touristic activities in the area. Another thing is they charge for everything (even the water you drink at room). Lastly, everything took a long time. Even making line to check out of the hotel took a long time. Overall, average hotel. Hotel has potential to do better with better management.

Hotel is good, great location close to anything you need in a walkable distance. Good restaurant with a wide variety of food and delicious breakfast, but the bar area is a dark ambient, there’s light but isn’t turned on. Free parking but is not accessible by the elevator, you have to go out the reception and walk to basement. Good hotel but no great as I was expecting. My room was spacious but the front door ceiling, was falling with some kind of plate hiding the hole. Seems the room needs renovation so they offered it with a discount, but this is bullet to the head if is the case as depreciate the hotel’s name. Overall was I good experience.

I stayed 2 times in one week. Compared to the Radisson this was superior. I had excellent service from start to finish both times, very clean and my room was freshened everyday. The staff at the front spoke English and everyone was attentive. The Breakfast was fresh and we'll maintained. The best part was the shower water pressure was excellent and clean suite with fresh smell. Thank You Grand Mercure do Belém.

Camas muito confortáveis, ar condicionado excelente e limpo, banheiro ótimo (principalmente limpo). Porém, as Instalações não são tão novas (quartos) e o atendimento do restaurante, principalmente pelos garçons, deixa a desejar (apenas um garçom estava atendendo todos os clientes do restaurante). Falha na cobrança no check out, porém solucionada.

I tried to upgrade to a room with a sofa but the front desk staff would not cancel my original prepaid room when Hotels.com tried upgrade directly. Very inconvenient for such a small transaction!

I stayed in a junior suite room 12.11 the hallway of level 12 has a terrible humid smell. There was a small portable dehumidifier operating in the hallway which is a confirmations that the hotel is well aware of this issue, and still assigns rooms to guests. Entering the room 12.11, the same humid odor smell is in the entire suite. The air conditioner is leaking water. The drain of the bath tub is broken also known to the hotel because is is put aside in the bath tub. The small towels in the bat tub were not replaced for a new guest as these were fully soaked with water from previous guest. All with all a bad experience, would not recommend to other guests.

We were totally impressed by the courtesy, helpfulness, great level of customer service by the staff. Both my wife and I only spoke Spanish and English and yet there seemed to be no language barrier. Yes some staff spoke English. From the Security, Doormen, Waiters, Maids, Maintenance (we had a little problem with our room safe) and the Front Desk Staff, service was impeccable. Special thanks to Yasmin who NEVER missed a beat when we presented ourselves to the front desk. When we went out at nights and were ready to return we were told to call the Hotel and they would send a taxi to bring us back. Breakfast was an excellent variety and tasty even though simple. We are surely going back there on our next trip to Belem later this year.

I chose this hotel because of the brand name Crowne Plaza. It is an old hotel. The only nice thing is the lobby. The hallways are dark and narrow. The rooms are old and the paint is chipping off the walls. The room had tile on the floor instead of a rug. The high price and the hotel name do not match the hotel experience. And the rating of 3.9 on expedia is COMPLETELY misleading. Unfortunately I think this is one of the better hotels in Belem.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belem is a new hotel, and therefore very comfortable with well-functioning Air Conditioners in the rooms. The front-desk staff (specially Camilla) spoke English and were pleasant and helpful.
The breakfast buffet is superlative, with many cooked items, deli meats, breads, etc. and an omelet station where you can have an omelet 'made to order' by choosing the ingredients you want. Many fresh fruits and at least 3 fruit juices were offered daily.
They were very efficient to launder a couple of items for us, and return them to us in a few hours.
We had one dinner at the hotel. It was difficult to order in English. We didn't get the appetizer we ordered, and the waiter wasn't familiar with the usual cocktails, but clearly the cook is excellent because the filet mignon was done medium rare and very good!
