Niche hotel to stay at. Strategic location to do business and relax if you want

Breakfast buffet didn’t have an omelet station which would have been nice. Variety of local as well as American cuisine. Some dishes were not warm enough. The wait staff was not receptive to feedback when i mentioned one of the handles on the trays was too hot and could possibly cause a burn. The outside wait staff on 11/19 were only attentive to certain customers, mostly Caucasians, and neglected others. Had to ask several times for beverages. The duvet cover, which was really a top sheet was torn and tattered and i had to request for it to be replaced. The housekeeping staff forgot to leave washcloths and so i had to request that as well. The parking, although free was only limited to 2 floors because all the other levels were reserved. For the price, not worth it and I’ve received better service at lower priced hotels like Holiday Inn Express. Will not stay at the Hyatt for any future stays, at least in Trinidad

So i would say very nice property the dislikes is when they put u in a room with no view because the windows are incredibly smog stainlike window nobody wants to pay for a ocean view that u cant see nothing out of please fix and the shower wasnt working you fix these problems five stars all around people book hotels for comfort and wnen its is uncomfortable its makes the stay much worse

This is a lovely hotel, the pool is fantastic. However the awning over the pool seating area needs to be replaced, when the rain comes you can’t shelter without getting wet as there are holes everywhere with water pouring through. The service at the pool bar was excellent. Service in the waterfront restaurant was hit and miss, we had some fantastic servers and other times we were left for a while without menus or waiting to order. Not a lot around the hotel in walking distance, you need to get taxis really. Very convenient if you are getting the ferry in/out of Trinidad.

Our stay was great, the room was comfortable, the view was so amazing. Customer service was excellent especially our waitress Nadine she made our dining experience one of the best.. My only complaint is that the pool closes at 10 just wished it was opened later because the view was amazing…

Normally stay at The Brix, which I love. However the change and first time experience here at the Hyatt Hotel didn’t disappoint. The customer service experience was superb with equal attention to everyone’s needs, which was refreshing in a country where that kind a greatly lacking. The meals were delish and had tremendous island infusion - not too Americanized. From the front desk to housecleaning, the thoughtfulness, respect and pleasantries were noticed and seemed genuine. My family and I would definitely be back when we come to Trinidad. I’m already sharing the experience with friends and family.

My family and I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad for many years, this vacation stay has been by far the worst experience. .
Merline at the front desk needs to be trained on providing adequate customer service experiences to all guests. Upon check in, we were told by Merline that we needed to wait in the lobby for an additional hour to check in or else we would incur an additional night stay fee due to our early check-in.
I was appalled by this response due to prior correspondence to the hotel reservations team before our travel. The hotel informed us prior to travel that the front office should be able to honor our early check in without any additional fees due to the low projected occupancy. There were rooms available at the time of check in however Merline simply wanted us to wait for 1 hour before being able check into our rooms.
I intend to further escalate to the appropriate avenues however I was disappointed in the treatment we received while staying at this property.

I Loved the convenience of the Cinnamon coffee bar outlet. Breakfast in the restaurant was awesome and the staff was attentive and friendly. I had to change rooms initially because the assigned room had a musty and smoky smell which affected my allergies. Otherwise the room was cozy, quiet and conducive to rest.

Nice accommodation. Lovely views of mountains and ocean. The bathroom needs an update. Our bathtub was so high and dirty. Housekeeper cleaning is not up to par.

The hotel is beautiful. I loved the safety features in it of using room key to monitoring my basic movements while inside. Staff members were very accommodating and pleasant. And I very much appreciated the room upgrade to ocean view since I arrived there on my birthday.
My only complaint is the FLIES, FLIES, FLIES! maybe they could plant some plants/shrubs that deter some of the flies or use Tiki Torches around the outer property.
