Room 112 was too small not up to BW plus standard. The space around the bed was so small you couldn’t open the bathroom door and nowhere to put our small suitcase other than on the bed to open. Could no get the small provided safe to operate.

Small but nice hotel, with a stunning view from the terrace.
The room are small, but the terrace and the view compensate for that.

Perfect location for a beach getaway. Nice restaurant and long walks along the coast.

A lovely spot right on the beach. Great room with a terrace. Ate at the hotel restaurant, as there aren’t many alternatives locally for dinner. Food was great.
Only small issue was we couldn’t use the breakfast dining room as we had a dog with us. It’s a buffet breakfast so completely understandable. Service was lovely. No complaints at all

This property is somewhat isolated on the coast of the English Channel. Only a few restaurants and no real shopping available.

We had a lovely stay at the Hotel de la Plage, we had seen it feature in the film Mr Hulot's Holiday and it was lovely to stay in this beautiful location. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and breakfast was good. We ate in the on-site restaurant in the evening but it seemed it was not part of the hotel. Only thing I would mention is the lack of toiletries provided, you will need to take your own, there is a soap dispenser next to the wash basin and shower but difficult to reach if in the bath and no separate shampoo etc. Tea, coffee and water were provided in the room. We had a lovely balcony so were able to sit out with tea and enjoy the view over the beach and the sea. There is on site parking. Lovely walks along the coast. Don't miss the statue of Mr Hulot outside!

We had a terrace room which was amazing. The room itself was very small but the terrace made up for that. We had an excellent lunch at the restaurant downstairs.

A clean, well-maintained beachfront property. Small rooms, tiny shower. Difficult to locate even with GPS. Narrow streets. Good breakfast and very pleasant staff. Outstanding location with spectacular beach and ocean views.

Everything was very nice at this hotel. Except we couldn’t understand how we could take our little dog in the restaurant for dinner and lunch but not breakfast? So we ordered it to be taken in our room when it arrived the fruit was very tired we were also told we would have a mix of pastries but only got hard bread and chocolate croissants so we were not very happy about that!

It was rather bizarre we had a bag ofg laundry to wash but when we took it to reception the receptionist said there was no way they could wash the clothes as they didn'y have a washing machine. So I asked why they put laundry bags in the room! He said he had no idea.

Near the beach, breakfast 6.00 til 10.00 no coffee and croissants after this time, not allowed to sit on the terrace. Tiny room but with nice view of the sea, no balcony, very few places to eat in the village. Hotel would not provide a towel for the beach. Good supermarket near the hotel.

The Hotel is complacent. They can sell every room without trying so they do not bother. Our room was tiny. The restaurant is worse. Overpriced and cursory service. Very different to our last visit some years ago. We won't be returning to the Hotel

Don't agree with paper cups especially booking a "Superior Room", a bit cheap!!!!

We had a sea view room overlooking the water, it was a fantastic view and perfect for walking. The hotel is a bit tired looking but the rooms were quite large, clean and comfortable.I have been travelling for nearly 3 weeks so far and the food in the attached restaurant is the best I have had so far. The presentation, taste and value was unbelievable.

We stayed overnight in a superior room . The receptionist was friendly and helpful and our room, although small, was nicely decorated with a view over the beach. The on site restaurant, which is not run by the hotel management, was not so good. I was a grubby and the service was poor; we had to chivvy the staff all through the meal. I had a huge caesar salad and a burger, both of which were good; my wife had a sirloin steak which was not value for money.

This hotel is situated right on the beach and the location is perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke excellent English. The restaurant food was delicious and the hotel had a nice ambience. On the downside the bar is very small with limited seating. We booked a standard room with sea view, the sea view was great but the room was tiny and it was not possible to walk around the bed without bumping into the wardrobe. There wasn't anywhere to sit in the room except on the bed which was disappointing.

We travelled by Eurostar to Paris and TGV to St. Nazaire, and chose to hire a small car. We were strangers to this coast, and the weather of an Indian summer helped our enjoyment enormously. The village is unassuming, and the hotel is the focal point. The restaurant, famous from the 1954 film, has been rebuilt as an extended terrace with a large capacity. The food is good, but pricey. The Brittany coast is well known for seafood, and this is reflected in the menu. A day's drive around the peninsular will take in an Atlantic Wall blockhouse, salt lagoons, dunes, an excellent restaurant - Le Neptune- and a walled medieval city - Guerande. Home again in time to enjoy a sundowner overlooking M. Hulot's beach before supper. Two bars in the village have live blues bands, but be sure to book a table for Sunday lunch at the hotel, because the locals take lunch seriously. Essentials like a mini-supermarket, a tabac (for maps) and a boulangerie are close by. We deducted points for no aircon, poor TV channels - CNN but not BBC World Service. Separate payments for bar or restaurant, and hotel irksome. Very helpful staff throughout made up for it.

Very welcoming staff in an ideal location. Large terrace - 25' x 55' if you take that option!

excellent hotel. Restaurant alas was not so good, it really let an otherwise great hotel down and there aren't very many other places to eat in st Marc.

The hotel was just as we expected. We asked for a sea view and were delighted to find a decking terrace with loungers, chairs and a table overlooking the famous beach. We're big Jacques Tati fans, so to be there was such fun.

Booked at last minute after a quick web search. What a find!!! I usually avoid big chains but this hotel is a little gem in an otherwise big chain. In the pretty Saint Marc, directly on the beach with amazing views; super friendly, helpful staff; the hotel is contemporary chic and welcoming.
Another thing I usually avoid is hotel restaurants - but this hotel restaurant is a MUST VISIT! Dinner here was delicious and the atmosphere equally pleasing. All in all a hands-down no holds barred recommendation.
Oh and mon petit chien was made very welcome too :)
