The bed was super comfy and the AC worked well. We had a large room with a shared balcony. The location is close to town with shops and restaurants, but it’s uphill from town, so the return walk got old pretty quickly.

Price was good and breakfast was great. Nice view from the second-floor room. Had to keep windows open to cool the room and that brought bugs in at night. Also meant that you could hear people in nearby rooms. Wifi signal was too weak to reach our room.

We enjoyed staying at the Mar Inn. Christine at the front desk showed us the map of the city and guided us to a couple of very good restaurants. Breakfast was very good as well. Close to the cloud forest and a Sloth sanctuary. Tip, park at the parking lot that says Offical Parking & take the shuttle, there is really no parking at the park entrance.

We loved the location close into town. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable and we loved being able to sit outside our room on our balcony. The breakfast was great!
This was a wonderful, affordable option for staying in Santa Elena. It is easily accessible to the beautiful hanging bridges and all of the other beauty in the area.

Very nice, cute simple accommodation! Little older but thw location is great, not in the heart of Santa Elena but a walking distant away from the crowded area. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. They have an organized schedule to all the acitvities around and multiple times for shuttles to different activities.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with arranging tours and making reservations for us. The location is within walking distance to the main commercial area and not far from both the Santa Elena and Monteverde Reserves. Had a great couple of nights here.

This was my second stay in Santa Elena. I chose this hotel due to its location (off the main street), and I was pleasantly surprised. I was looking for quiet, and Mar Inn allowed me to rest after hiking in the jungle.
The included breakfast was substantial, and the service excellent. There is a coffee and spirits bar on-site.
The host was very helpful, and one minor issue with our refrigerator was promptly remedied.

Offering excellent value for the price, this hotel provided all the comforts and conveniences one could ask for. Its central location made it easy to explore the wonders of Monteverde, while the reliable air conditioning ensured a comfortable stay, especially after a day of hiking or exploring the cloud forest. The beds are very cozy and comfortable with nice blankets. The shower is a nice rainfall shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. But, the water was not very hot. It is located in a great area 5 minutes walk from downtown. The parking lot is pretty small. Breakfast is 6:30-8:30am made to order. The pancakes are fluffy and they have tea/milk/coffee.

The best thing about this property for us was the 2 guys that ran the reception. They helped us find the best restaurants, activities and even the best local places for sunset. Our room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The location was close to everything. I highly recommend this hotel.

Mar Inn is a good clean place to stay in Monte Verde. Room was spacious and clean and staff was friendly. It is conveniently located close and very walkable to the shops and restaurants of Monte Verde town. This place is a great option for budget minded tourists.

Our room had no air-conditioning or even a ceiling fan. It was warm in the room when we got there and no way to ventilate it other than open the window with no breeze. A ceiling fan would be a nice addition.
The staff and owner was awesome as well as the location. The facility was clean and breakfast was excellent.

The location is good. Only 5-10 minutes to downtown. The room is clean . The balcony is so beautiful . We like it .
But the room is not that soundproof . There is uphill slope from the hotel to the restaurant and grocery stores of downtown …

We had a great two night stay at this spot in December 2023. Staff was friendly and helpful. Heads up this isn’t the newest facilities, the bed is firm (which I like) and overall would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for one night. The room was tidy, clean and well equipped. We liked the sitting area next to the garden. The breakfast is okay.
However, our room was on the first floor. We kept hearing the foot steps of the people staying in the floor above. We woke up multiple times during the night and early in the morning because of that.

Spent couple of nights. Staff are very friendly. Facility was quite nice. Walkable to a lot of eateries and taxi stand etc. Good dinning options. Breakfast comes included and was adequate and good. Ate dinner one night , food was reasonably priced, and tasty.
Room had nice view, bed was comfortable , had a fridge. Basic amenities, nothing fancy. No Fan or AC, did not need them, but just to note.

It's clean and reasonable price. Staff are ready to answer to your tours questions. Breakfast is small and limited portion. There is no net for windows for keeping them open at night.

A great place to stay in Santa Elena - easy to walk to restaurants, shopping, etc in town. The staff were great and booked everything we needed for us. The breakfast was tasty and our room had a great view. I would recommend Mar Inn to anyone.

Our three night stay was generally good. It’s within walking distance to the town center, but remains mostly quiet. Staff was nice enough and provided assistance when asked. Breakfast was adequate but nothing memorable. The room was clean but definitely kind of dated and lacked amenities like a refrigerator or microwave. I can’t complain much although, like most things in Santa Elena, I think it’s overpriced for what you get.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was an easy walk to the town. Breakfast was included and great! Parking is EXTREMELY tight and people need to park one behind another, blocking others in, making it difficult to come and go conveniently. Our room was clean, but I woke up to a scorpion in my running shoe.

The property was good value for money and an easy walk into town. The bar at the property was great and the bar man was great, friendly and made some really nice cocktails, he was the best part of the hotel. Breakfast was okay but good considering the hotel price.
One issue I did have is I booked a tour and when I showed up for the tour, they had already sent the tour guy away as they thought I had cancelled. Since it was my last night, i had no opportunity to do this tour again.

Reasonable rate, clean and comfortable room, friendly staff. Balcony even has partial views of the mountain. 15 minutes drive from the Monteverde Cloud Forest.
