I travel solo and like to have some luxury when I travel. I also enjoy staying in the city centres and where possible and affordable I choose historic properties....if their walls could talk! Casa Ellul did not disappoint. Check in was quick and staff was very friendly and helpful especially Sladjana. I booked a room with a rooftop hot tub - what a treat to have after long days of sightseeing and walking the hilly streets! The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was divine with very personal attention provided by the servers. I appreciated the recommendation for a personal tour of Malta and Gozo - very qualified tour guide from Malta Holidays. And the transportation arrangements made to/from the airport was extremely helpful. And being right across from the Teatru Manoel during the Baroque Festival was beyond convenient. I highly recommend a stay at Casa Ellul.

Casa Elul Simply a wonderful experience. Despite my extremely late arrival, in the middle of the night, I received a warm welcome in this both cosy and extravagant hotel. It is undoubtedly the unexpected eclectic mixture of styles combined with the warm hospitality that changed this visit into something unforgettable. The spacious bedroom (announced as suite) is very tastefully equipped with all one needs for a short stay in the city. Free coffee, tea and water,combined with the luxurious bedding linen, great furniture and decoration, a well filled bar, a great and huge bathroom, all possible details... Perfect. The breakfast is à la carte and served by a staff that makes you feel welcome. Hard to beat! An unexpected experience for a very attractive price ! I really enjoyed my stay.

I booked our trip to Malta and stay at Casa Ellul as a surprise birthday present for my wife, and for once I made the right choice! From the moment we arrived at Casa Ellul we were made to feel entirely at home by the wonderful staff. Our room was relaxing, comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the location was the perfect base for our exploration of Valletta. The thoughtful little touches such as chocolates delivered to our room every afternoon and the friendly chats with the endlessly helpful staff made our stay everything we could have wanted. We will certainly be returning to Casa Ellul on our next trip to Malta.

Top Tier Stay! Everything about my stay here was fantastic. The staff were exuberant. The location was central yet quiet. The rooms were comfortable and had character. The complimentary breakfast was made to order and quite tasty. Casa Ellul was one of the best stays I’ve had in a very long time and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone traveling to Malta.

It is a typical Maltese house which has been remodeled for a boutique hotel. Great job! Room was nice and full of space. It is in a great location for reaching walking any area of Valletta. And the ferry for Sliema. If you need to get a taxi or uber they can get to you on both corner of the street 1 min walking from your hotel. Breakfast is very good and open till 10.30 which is very nice if you sleep one morning longer. And the staff is just super: helpful, nice and caring. Lot’s of restaurants around it. We will be back.

Casa Ellul felt comfortable, and the owner Matthew Ellul and his staff work hard to have their guests feel at home. Their rooms are well appointed, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. Their restaurant is top shelf and the chef creates a wonderful "tasting menu", if you want to experience the next level in fine dining. I highly recommend that you experience all the comforts of Casa Ellul for your trip to Malta.

This is a small, centrally-located gem in the walled city of Valletta! My room featured creative details and a large bathroom, which more than made up for the interior view. The restaurant offers an ambitious (and delicious) dinner menu and an extensive breakfast. The most delightful aspect of the hotel: Alfredo, who went out of his way to help with my itinerary, free street parking, and even breakfast!

Perfect location on a quiet street very close to the center of the city. Five star service and comfort. Great breakfast and classy restaurant. Cher but not overly pricey. My wife loved it!!!

We loved this boutique hotel so much, we came back twice in the same month. The staff are friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The rooms have a lot of character while also being quite comfortable. The included breakfast was also excellent and made to order. Our entire stay was cozy, relaxed, and we felt well cared for.

Every staff person at casa Ellul was extraordinarily helpful and nice. We loved the view from the roof top deck, a great place to relax at the end of the day. Bravo!

The hotel was situated in a great place that was only a short walk from all the places of interest, without being noisy. The staff were absolutely fantastic, very friendly and helpful with nothing being to much of a problem. The room was large and clean and tidy. The only thing that was wrong was the wardrobe door didn’t fit properly and we had difficulty opening and closing it also a handle was missing on a drawer. I didn’t mention it to the staff but I’m sure if I did they would have put it right. All in all though an excellent hotel and I can thoroughly recommend it

Nice and unique. Small 9 rooms hotel, yet run by a team that makes you feel the entire place is yours to relax in. Every room is special and more so are their guests. Breakfast was beautifully served personalised excellent quality. My room number 2 quiet and specious. Aside from that there are no additional amenities however, after a whole day of exploring and walking I needed a safe, quiet, clean and peaceful place to renovate for the next day!

Casa Ellul has no lounge, the picture of the room with statue is rather misleading as it is open to the sky (can be cold in March!) We stayed in one of the rooms and also looked at their best room (on roof with jacuzzi). Our room was on 2 levels, bed on one level toilet and shower on lower level, down about 10-12 concrete stairs. There were no chairs or anywhere to sit. The room had a balcony with seating, but far too cold when we stayed in early March (it is the winter wind). The room has very little natural light and none in the bathroom. The room was grey concrete walls with small TV that did not work properly (reported twice, no-one came to fix; similarly one bedside light did not work and was not fixed). So, expensive for what you get. Breakfast, English and/or continental was good and must be ordered the night before. The staff were good especially the Italian Alfredo who was a delight. Yes, we looked at the most expensive room with Jacuzzi on the roof. On 3 levels, OK if you want to pay a exorbitant price for a jacuzzi. Otherwise the room was much the same as ours. At the weekend the prices go even higher, so we had booked the nearby, almost new, Embassy hotel which was a proper hotel. wonderful, lovely bright room and great included buffet style breakfast on the roof (both enclosed and open. We are reviewing elsewhere. No, we would not stay in Casa Ellul again. Look elsewhere. Actually the prices of Casa Ellul are on a par with the top hotel in Valletta-Phoenica!

If I could rate it higher, I would. The place is excellent, the staff really do whatever they can to make the stay pleasant and are super helpful. The breakfast is amazing and the suite with the jacuzzi is insane.

We have enjoyed an outstanding stay at Casa Ellul, we switched suites after 2 nights to stay an extra night in Valletta. Beautiful property and stunning rooftop views. Thanks so much to the friendly staff for making our stay a very special one 😊

Location!!! Location!!! LOCATION!!! We were in Suite 7 with our own jetted hot tub and a magnificent view of Valletta. Alessandro was the BEST and couldn’t be more helpful!!! Highly recommend Casa Ellul

Wow - what a unique property! Incredible private terrace with spectacular view of the historic church across the street. The terrace also has a private hot tub - very enjoyable after a long day of sightseeing. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, in fact they went above and beyond to accommodate my special requests. The location is superb, a 5 to 10 minute walk to just about anything. A very nice breakfast is included each day. I highly recommend this property.
