It was very clean, with friendly staff and the breakfast was good. It had a nice atomsphere.

Charged cancellation when cancellation was free. Canceled one room, kept the reservation. Charged for both rooms. Bad form.

The staff in this hotel is efficient. But they are very serious and they have always rigid faces, they never smile, never!

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the family atmosphere! Nice to have a washer and dryer, too. The hotel was spotless and the food was amazing! The apfelstrudel was the best we had in Germany! Thank you, Christian, and staff.

Lovely hotel set slightly out of the bustle of town. Convenient to walking/ running trail. Very good breakfast. Safe walk to old town about 1 1/2 miles also bus stop right in front of town.

We were on our way from Nuremberg to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and stopped here for the night....and we were VERY glad we did. This unassuming hotel on the outside is delightful on the inside. Most of the hotel is very newly renovated, and the quality of the hotel was superb. The staff was very nice, the room was very cheap for what we got, and the breakfast was very good. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone passing through.

The first 3 nights of our stay we were in a room that was on the very top floor, and they were remodeling and had the roof removed. This turned the room in to a attic type of room with the night temp around 90F. The room also smelled of construction work with the dust everywhere. This dust caused my wife to swell up around the eyes and irritated our sinus. We asked to be moved to another room our 2nd night there and they could not move us for two days. Once we were moved we had a much better nights sleep, but the next day we lost the use of our balcony to scaffolding and construction work. I called Hotels.com and they said that there is no construction ( See the attached pictures). So I am not sure what good using Hotels.com did for us.

"A united family is strength" Definitely when it comes to the family means trust and security, this traditional boutique hotel in the town of Ansbach, Germany Managed by a whole family is the most comfortable, excellent service, very welcoming rooms , affordable prices, also has a restsurante of traditional German food of the most delicious managed by the professional chef of the family. This small city where one of the oldest universities in the country is located has more than five thousand international students, Also has a perfect location, only 40 minutes by train to Nuremberg, which is a very developed and progressive city and where you can find an international airport, also Munich at 1:30 min by the highway (Autobahn) the fastest in the world, you can visit the oldest city in Germany that is Rothenburg, in short I can recommend 100% "Hotel Gasthof Windmühle" if this looking for a quiet and relaxed vacation

Good breakfast, good internet, plenty of parking and quiet area. Business rooms are new and modern.If they had only put a ceiling/desk fan in the rooms for the summer time, this place could not be beat. . .except by AC.Second trip to this hotel within the last eight months. Will go back again.

When I arrived I was overwhelmed at how clean the hotel was from lobby to room to gasthaus.I stayed there for eight nights and on one occasion around 9:00 PM I was eating in the gasthaus and I could see straight into the kitchen with its clean white walls and a lady was standing on a ladder cleaing the insides of the light fixtures and ceiling. In the dining area there is top to bottom woodwork and there was not a spec of dust on any of it or on the knicknacks displayed all over. The cleanliness of the place was a reflection on the quality and taste of the food as well which was top notch! The family who runs this hotel have had it in operation for over 100 years and the pride in everything they own and do shows.
