The only problem, as such, was there was no hot water in the room what so ever. Not ideal, but the rest of the facilities were good.

TV shuts off and so does the internet. Or the TV has volume but no picture. Staff fixes and later it is down again, this happened the entire two nights.Parking is on street and subject to tickets. I had to go to the bar to use my laptop, a beer is 6 pounds. I went to the pub across the street for great internet and 2 pound beers.

Absolutely loved it staff all friendly food fantastic and a good price would definitely stay here again I even was given a cup of coffee by the night reception think his name was Alan at 4 in the morning when my sister could not sleep for my snoring so I went downstairs and stayed up had a walk around carrickfergus to catch up on memories fantastic stay a must is a roast dinner pork with the gravy yummy

For us it was about location. Good breakfast. It is an older establishment so expect things like a gap between the door and the frame to let light in from hallway and a smaller room. Clean. Staff was very conscientious.

Great nights sleep comfy bed. Breakfast service and food excellent. We stayed Room 14 no view but was perfectly quiet and what we where looking. Over all stay was excellent.

Lovely location, right in the centre of castle rock, great view of the castle! Staff welcoming and friendly, great advice on nearby car parks, I would say our room, number 5, the beds were very springy and hard and pillows very hard too, in my opinion, other than that, good spot if needing somewhere to stay for a night.

The room did not look like the pictures, was old and tired. Tiny TV which had limited reception and the Wifi in the bedroom was patchy to say the least. Noise from other guests and during the night the phone would light up, lighting up the room.

The room was dirty and water was leaking from the toilet because the pipe connected from toilet to sink was hanging down. No one cleaned the carpet the carpet was soaking wet. The room started to smell badley with the wet carpet and no cleaning. No windows to open. Would not recommend

Good local location, close to Castle, sea front & harbour
Wasn’t expecting the free parking to actually be on road parking but only after certain times
Room nice however room 15 was at front of hotel being above pub section (of hotel) which was noisey & then also with having pub opposite, when leaving in early hours of morning, keep us awake
Breakfast was very nice & accommodating especially with the cooked food

The inn was an amazing find! The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were incredible lovely. Highly recommend and would definitely book again.

Gave me a chance to see where my ancestors lived. Food was wonderful as well as the staff. We met people not only from Ireland but also Scotland. The firm bed was very comfortable. Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good and an additional plus.

Excellent value and enjoyable stay. You can park outside for free between 5pm and 9am which works well, parking during the day is by way of a good value pay and display carpark 100 yards away. Friendly bar with an excellent menu. Have stayed several times to date and would book again.

So much history in this little inn. It was actually considered a castle at one time. Not to mention you can walk across the street to the huge castle. Remember it’s old…but that’s part of its beauty. The breakfast was 2nd to none!!!

Negatives:
Wifi did not work in room.
Shower takes about 15-20 min for lukewarm water.
Toilet needs about 2-3 flushes to fully flush.
Room was very small (though this was somewhat set in expectations).
Positives:
Receptive staff to problems.
Good service in breakfast and bar.
Location and (depending on day) free adjacent or extremely close parking.

Historic!!!! Just what you would expect when you enter… 800 yr old! Awesome! The room was comfortable, private bath, tea/coffee things. Breakfast cooked.. lots of choices. Wonderful! Dinner excellent as well

Lovely stay in a hotel with lots of history and even a ghost! Room was a bit tired, but functional and clean. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, the lady serving was very very helpful and nothing was too much trouble!

My niece & I wound up at the Dobbin's Inn by chance, we were only going spend one night but we fell so in love with the Hotel & the surrounding town of Carrickfergus that we spent 3 nights there !
We were enchanted with everything about the hotel ; the warm, cozy atmosphere, the fascinating history, the thoughtful & courteous staff, and the simply delicious food that the house chef & staff cooked for us each day. Do yourself a favour and try their seafood chowder & fresh bread - it can't be beat !
