It is a while since I have stayed in a guest house and it felt somewhat different to a hotel. I was greeted at the door and taken to my room however there was no offer to help with my bags up the narrow steep stairs. The room was well appointed if a little old fashioned, and comfortable. I wasn't too keen on the owner coming in the room with me though he had to later to look at the radiator. I was informed on arrival of breakfast time and also that I had to leave by 10.15 'at the latest' The room was a little chilly but a heater was brought up quickly. There was no blind on the bathroom window and I had no idea where it looked out so this felt a bit awkward. The cleanliness was great and the bed very comfortable. The location was in the town but quiet which was a bonus. Not easy to find a parking spot. Breakfast was served by a young lady, it arrived promptly and was good. I was pleased to see a 5 star hygiene rating. Overall a good experience I would say however I personally am not keen on the rather claustrophobic feel of a guest house as you are staying in the owner's home and it felt like it. It is a good spot for the town centre and for walking or various activities nearby. I was simply meeting friends a 3 minute walk away.

Liked everything about it. Staff were very friendly and helpfull,breakfast was very good and the room was comfortable . Very nice town centre location and parking nearby in the main town car park(free between 4.30pm and 10am)

Excellent breakfast with quick service

Very welcoming host and everything for a very enjoyable stay. Would recommend for anybody staying in this beautiful area. Was even offered a bacon butty to takeaway as i was out too early for breakfast each day, great service!

Great B & B. Excellent stay with a breakfast fit for a king. There is no parking but this was not a problem as there were a few parks nearby

Duncan was a superb host, room comfy, local pubs and restaurants aplenty, fabulous breakfast, fully recommended.

The proprietor Duncan provided a right and proper welcome, helping us get oriented to the locale and answering our questions forthrightly. Two pet cats added a degree of hominess to the accommodation. We enjoyed the breakfast which was cooked to order and served by courteous staff. We thought the room rate was certainly fair and we wouldn't hesitate to book again if we were ever to venture back to Dogellau.

Very clean, warm, comfortable with excellent breakfasts. Owners and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Room 5 is right at the top of the stairs and has a small but adequate ensuite bathroom. It's a good sized double room with a view of the street. The bed was very comfortable and I slept really well. In the morning I was served an excellent breakfast and went on my way prepared for the day. Thanks to Duncan and the staff.

Friendly service and really clean. Fantastic breakfast. Will be back if I need somewhere to stay in Dolgellau again. No parking on-site and it can be tricky to find free parking for more than an hour.

We thought the accommodation to be clean but somewhat dated in appearance all members of staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good and we would stay again

We stayed for three nights. The owner is very helpful and friendly. We had a twin room which was on the top floor it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and very tasty. If I had a gripe it would be that breakfast was too much to eat for me which is not really a complaint.

We loved it. It was beyond expectations, with little details on tea, coffee, cookies, even a smart tv ready to sign in to netflix. We had our dog too, the place was very clean and breakfast delicious. Loved it all.

Stayed 1nt at Ivy House, was in a great location in the Dolgellau just off from the one way system through the village so easily walkable to restaurants/pubs etc. Room was really clean and comfortable, and nice en suite bathroom which looked pretty new. Was dog friendly. Duncan was a great host, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really lovely, plentiful and well served. Will return to Dolgellau next year and will stay here again

Great host, friendly, helpful at any point. As we visited Wales for a few days we needed accomodation and Breakfast in the morning and we get all of this at Ivy House. Rooms with bathrooms, TVs. Breakfast you can order from the menu day before. All the C19 safety rules are followed. WiFi access available at decent speed. Location in a town centre, close to restaurants and other amenities. Highly recommended for a short and longer stay. Book in advance as it might be busy.

The Ivy House is in a prime spot. 5 min walk to pubs and restaurants. We were there for mountain biking and its a 10 min drive from Coed Y Brenin which is superb. Duncan is a great host and there is secure bike storage. the food was without fault and the rooms spotless. Would book again in a heartbeat.

I had a lovely stay at Ivy House, which is located in the heart of Dogellau. The room was comfortable and good value for the price, although the rest of the property looked a little sad and worn. The breakfast every morning was great -- it set me up for a day of walking the North Wales hills and mountains nicely. The owner was extremely helpful about recommending local beauty spots and trails, which was also much appreciated, and my dogs were made to feel welcome too. Parking was a bit of a problem during the day, but again, with the owners help, a solution was found.
