Staff was friendly and helpful, view from room and restaurant was gorgeous and food was great.

Gorgeous location and views, friendly staff and delicious food. We never wanted to leave.

The views from this hotel are breathtaking. The food is reasonably good too. The restaurent gets busy in the evening, so I would recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine here.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, however are in dire need of an update (see pictures) for their rates. Everything is slightly old or rusty. Oddly the lights in the room are bright bluish-white (day light) like a night market, compared to the usual warm-white found in hotels. There are basically no amenities in the room apart from black coffee (no milk), such as water bottles, robes or slippers.
The rooms were cleaned every day, but service was not particularly warm or attentive compared to the rest of the our costa rica experience. The receptionist was however exceptionally nice to us.

Beautiful facility in a wonderful location. Great pool. Wonderful breakfast.

Stay a week and you won’t be disappointed. We only stayed for 2 nights and wish it was more. Free breakfast, friendly staff, clean rooms, tons of pools and spectacular views. Macaws, monkeys and toucans were seen on site. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Free shuttle to and from beach. Everything was very clean.

This hotel is nothing short of amazing. The views are fantastic. The rooms are very well kept. The staff is exceedingly friendly. The restaurant in the hotel is amazing. The pool is great with amazing views of the beaches below. They can pretty much set you up with any activity you want, from mangrove swamp tours, to hiking at night or through waterfalls, to surf lessons, tours of Manuel Antonio Park, etc. This was my second time to visit Costa Rica and by far the best experience. The hotel isn’t large but it acts like a 5-star hotel at 3-star prices. Food is a bit expensive at the restaurant, but it is pricey everywhere in this area and not especially so here. I really have no complaints up to what is going to be our last day here. The kids wish they could stay another week and frankly so do I. We saw macaws from the balcony, a sloth climbing in the lobby, geckos on the windows, and one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen from a hotel in my life (and I have traveled the world A LOT). I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room didn’t look as expected from the pictures, the main pool was crowded and lack of staff around keeping the area clean and organized

la mariposa is the perfect spot to base explorations on quepos great pool bar excellent restaurant easy walking to evening activities away from the bustle of the beach but easy to get to

Beautiful property great amenities staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location in the Manuel Antonio national park! Even saw a sloth on the property! View from the room and pool was amazing definitely recommend an ocean view room! Only downside was the beds were not very comfortable.

When we arrived, our room was fairly disorganized, and the sheets indicated bloodstain. When I lifted up the sheet, I saw something that looked like a bedbug. Staff members were in the room with me and saw the same thing. However, they denied the possibility of bedbugs. When I complained, they said I could leave the hotel and go find another room, but that was rather impossible. There was no compensation for the discomfort and stress that we went through. The mattress was also quite firm. I did receive bites that had the possibility of being bedbugs. I have pictures of these bites. However, I was walking in the woods and so I cannot conclude this. The view is magnificent, the pool, terrific, but I was surprised at the lack of courtesy and compensation, for the discomfort that we went through. When we left the staff member said that the room at that point would be exterminated. This certainly increases the verification of the concern.

Had no clue that in order to reach the front desk to check in was up a pretty steep incline. Also after reaching the front we had to go up many steps. No bell man, no golf cart and parking up near the top was limited to about 6 cars with parking below the incline of the hill. It was not easy hauling your suitcases up the incline. Should be disclosed because many people complained. Some of the duplex units had many stairs to go up or down. There is an elevator for the main tower but still gotta climb the hill to get there.
Waiters were not that friendly as they were in La Fortuna.

Amazing view of Manuel Antonio and the Pacific Ocean from the lobby, pool, and room. Saw lots of wildlife around the property. Beach shuttle 4x/day was convenient.

Beautiful place. The pool is amazing, the staff is friendly. (Shout outs to Franko) Unbelievable experience. Thank you for creating such a beautiful atmosphere. Saw toucans and macaws from the pool.

The views from this hotel are unmatched! A gorgeous property, and the staff is incredible. Everyone remembered your name almost immediately. The follow up from the staff on booking tours was amazing! We were very very happy with our stay and cannot wait to go back! I will warn, there are a lot of stairs on the property depending on where your room is and the property itself is up on a hill. This was fine for us because the views are worth it. We saw macaws, iguanas, and white faced monkeys all on the property. Not to mention, the most beautiful sunsets. The hotel is a short walk from a number of restaurants and they have a shuttle to and from the beach. We had a rental car and driving/parking was very easy.

Hotel with a million dollar view. Exceptional staff that are super friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and hope to return. Thank you so very much.

The view from this property is amazing! The service was phenomenal. The property was clean and comfortable. The only downsides were the internet was spotty and tv was not fantastic. I would book this property again. We are planning to go back soon.

Very beautiful hotel with the best views in Manuel Antonio. Book the plus rooms whether it be sunset or sunrise, generously sized and modern style. Food was delicious. Service from both Christopher’s (2 staff named Christopher at restaurant), Fabian (restaurant), Gregory (restaurant), Leo (front desk) and many more made our stay very comfortable and welcoming. The staff is friendly and engaging, they are always helpful and funny. Thank you for a wonderful time! We have stayed at Parador as well, and both are beautiful however this was a more personal experience and also quieter for people who want to rest and relax. Also saw many macaws, toucans and monkeys daily! Honestly all the staff were wonderful all the time. Pura Vida

Amazing hotel, we stayed 3 days with friends. Beautiful views from the top of the mountain overlooking the Pacific. Restaurant had good food and service was great throughout the property. My only complaint would be that there are only small TVs in the rooms and they don't aren't smart TVs with Netflix etc., so unless you want to watch Spanish cable TV, you are out of luck.

Excellent service, location and property condition. Only they should clarify in advance for which Beach the have transportation. Undoubtedly I will stay again there.

It was absolutely beautiful and we had a great time. I would return again.

This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our trip, and was the least impressive. Other than the view, not sure why a basic room, that’s dirty with dead bugs would cost $550/night. Breakfast was marginal at best.

The hotel lobby and rooms have an amazing view . However the service at this hotel is like 1 star hotel. The staff is not considerate. It's like they are doing favor to guests by working there. They don't not let you check in even 5 minutes before 3 pm . At all levels they are just proving the basic service and nothing special .

We had a great stay at La Mariposa. I was so comfortable arriving alone on my first day. The view is unmatched and the staff is so accommodating and friendly. They felt like family and friends. The shower was hot and good pressure. I would have liked more towels offered in the rooms, but it seems they are working to regulate lost items. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I look forward to trying to return again!

It was an amazing experience. The view from the restaurant, the pool and from our room were magnificient, as out of this world! Staff was friendly and always ready to help.

Room and bathroom very clean (trust me I’m picky and a clean freak). My sunrise room had a breathtaking view of the ocean and sunrise over the jungle on the large balcony. The breakfast is included and was beyond delicious. They made fresh omelette and any style eggs of your choice, plus a variety of other items. The restaurant on site is available for other meals and was delicious. The infinity pool was breathtaking at sunset. There is also a swim up bar in another pool. The waiters do come to other pools and refill your drinks. The drinks were amazing and not water down. The staff was pleasant and eager to make sure you had an amazing time. I would definitely return 10/10 for cleanliness, location walking distance to town bars and restaurants. Thanks for making my stay amazing!

VERY friendly, helpful and approachable staff! Great food and beverages on property but a close walk to other excellent eateries as well plus a small supermarket, pharmacy and other services. A very nice breakfast to start the day, excellent omelets! The free shuttle down to the beach and park area and back to the property was very convenient and prompt. Room just as described on the site, excellent Pacific sunset view from our patio. Only kinda wierd thing is the "swim up bar" is actually not attached to the main pool but a very small, isolated pool connected to the upstairs bar serving the restaurant. We had an excellent time at this property and would return and recommend to anyone visiting the Manuel Antonio/Quepos ($10.00 taxi ride to the marina for fishing) area. Pura Vida!

La Mariposa felt like home away from home! The property was serene and beautiful with stunning jungle and ocean views! Every morning we were greeted by a kind and courteous staff who attended to our family during the delicious continental breakfast. The location was safe, family-friendly, and close to some amazing restaurants. We will never forget our stay at La Mariposa, and hope to be back soon!

We spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica traveling around the country and finished our trip by staying 5 days here. This was by far my wife and I’s favorite hotel during the whole trip. All the staff was extremely kind throughout the whole stay. Kendall, Aldo, Alfred, Luis, and all the others at the hotel made our stay so special. They take the time to actually know their guests name, greet you with a smile, and attend to whatever request you have.
The views at this hotel were gorgeous. This property is located in a prime location and we were able to complete all our local excursions with most having pick up. Also, the rooms were very clean and modern. We had wildlife right outside our balconies being greeted by macaws, squirrel monkeys, and others.
We ate dinner here multiple nights and the food was very good and fresh. It was very convenient for us on nights that we didn’t want to go out and find food.
Overall, this hotel was so great and if we come back to Costa Rica, we will definitely be staying here again.

All the rooms have ocean front view. Beautiful grounds with numerous pools. Friendly, helpful staff.

Beautiful property and views as usual substandard maintenance ( plumbing issues no water, no internet) and construction noise.
5.0
The area around the property was hard to walk if you have a disability, which my wife does , the hotel first gave us a room across the parking lot from main hotel but my wife struggled to make it to breakfast at the restaurant so they gave us a free upgrade at main hotel which meant she just used elevator and then taxi to everywhere else. Also I was surprised to see no accommodation at the Manuel antonio park for disabled people , they need to get some hikers wheelchairs for rent , I would gladly have paid extra with a guide.

Well positioned for gorgeous sunrise and sunset views

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. They were incredibly helpful even before we arrived with arranging a car and then helping us book tours when we arrived. The room was lovely and the views were stunning. We can't wait to return.
