It feels like staying in an especially clean bed and breakfast in the best possible way, that’s a hotel instead. The owner was INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful, giving us takes on where we should travel in Avignon and being gregarious throughout. The room was clean — there’s not a ton of amenities here, but it was exactly what we were looking for in a perfect, PERFECT location.

A delightful place with lovely owners. It is in the middle of Avignon, down a side street that is quiet. It offers easy walks to a lot of you will want to see in Avignon.

The owners were very kind, welcoming, and informative. The building is old so keep that in mind—the door to the bathroom creaks and there is no elevator. The windows are soundproof but the walls are not. The city streets were filthy, especially the back alleys. No English channels were available, but there were German channels.

Do yourself a favor and stay at this hotel and do yourself a BIGGER favor and pay for the homemade breakfast (made by the owners wife!). Excellent hotel, so so clean, and so welcoming.

A true positive experience here. Our bathroom was modern and large with a complete walk-in shower (no half-walls as one can experiences in Europe) and plenty of bathroom shelf space. The room itself was intentionally decorated traditional and not as modern as the bathroom. The room had air conditioning, mini fridge, lounging chairs. Room was comfortable and located centerally within the walled part of the city.
Best part was Stefan who runs the place who is a true advocate for Avignon and gave up front recommendations of walking paths, things to see, etc… a really a true joy!

A very unique and quaint building - spiral staircase up two flights to our room, that was something new for us! Proprietor was very helpful and responsive.. Breakfast was excellent.

Dinner recommendations provided for several small, local restaurants were 2 of the best meals we had in our 2 week France trip. Lovely hotel in a perfect location in the centre of the Old Town. Walking distance to all the attractions. Very friendly hosts. My room was perfect with a view down the narrow pedestrian street. Avignon was a great place to visit.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Garlande. Stephane and Emmanuelle were amazing hosts and provided superb advice on dinner recommendations, places to see in Avignon & Villeneuve de Avignon, and best ways to get around the city.
The breakfast is largely homemade, and was a delicious way to start each day.
We highly reccomend staying here for any length of time while in Avignon!

The owners Stephan and Emmanuele were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel was excellent value for 3 star. The walk in shower was easy to operate without having to step over anything to get in and the bathroom and bedroom nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the room light, airey. and very clean. There was everything we needed for a perfect and restful stay in beautiful Avignon. Thank you so much Stephan and Emmanuele. What a find! This small boutique hotel is in the heart of old town Avignon and is perfect for exploring the city, dining, and just walking the streets.
The owners, Emmanuelle and Stephane, are delightful and VERY informative.
The room was exceedingly clean and had a great shower. The beds are very comfortable and the shutters blocked the light and street noise.
Absolutely the only downside, in our opinion, is the cost of breakfast. Having said that, it was all home made and delicious, with many choices to choose from.
This was an excellent choice for us and we’d stay again, for certain.
I should note that we were on a Viking cruise after our stay and the cruise dock is an easy 12 minute walk, downhill with luggage.

Although we were only at Garlande for one night, it was a delight to stay in such an attractive historical hotel. Emmanuelle was a very welcoming host and saw to all our needs promptly. She provided a local map and recommended some nearby restaurants. She also provided a wonderful breakfast taking care to inquire about any food preferences. We would definitely stay there again.

It was enough to enjoy the atmosphere of the ancient capital, and the staff were friendly and very nice. To be honest, you might be a little nervous about the way to the hotel, so it might be a good idea to find out what kind of place it is on Google Maps etc. in advance. It may not be obvious, especially at night. However, this is not a problem with the hotel; it's a city that makes use of the roads of the ancient capital, so I thought it would be nice if a map of where you are is posted in the city itself in a way that doesn't spoil the scenery.
