A beautiful place with old charm.

Not so good , entered the room it smelled like cleaner fluid , room was very small for the price , bed was uncomfortable. Pool was only open till 6 pm most other places around usually open till 9 -10 pm so I was not able to enjoy that amenity , breakfast was not complimentary which most places at least have something

The top sheet on my bed had holes in it. Really?
Bathroom was clean but no bar to hold onto stepping into the bathtub to shower. And no place to place toilet articles while using in the bathroom.
Staff was wonderful and food and wait staff excellent in the Tavern. Grounds were pretty and bed comfortable.
Overall appearance was pretty run down everywhere.

Overall property
A bit tired.

No room service. After 4 nights, not good. No air conditioning. Small room, though 2nd room on same reservation was much bigger.

The room is very nice we've stayed here before and always have a great time.

Very nice condo, great location, peaceful surroundings. We stayed in the detached property near the golf course. Staff very friendly!

Definitely has seen better days but it's a very convenient location for the ski resorts. Good service (we had to change rooms as our door knob fell off!) and the restaurant / bar there is solid. But for the price, everything was a little dated, beaten up, and low value (towels were like sandpaper).

Fantastic house and location! Would stay here again for sure.

I booked a room with 2 queens but offered 2 full size instead. They left me with no choice because it was a late check in. There is a hidden charge of $30 and I asked them what that was and they told me it was a tax for ME. I told them I have paid the room charge and tax when booking with Expedia. They told me I need to pay for that and contact Expedia. Other than that. This hotel is very old with no elevator. I would recommend to stay away from it.

We had a great weekend at the historic Bethel Inn. Some of our favorite amenities were swimming in the heated outdoor pool that was warm enough for us the first day- but others didn't last a minute. Happily it was a little warmer the next day. The saunas were lovely too. BYOB- bring your own bathrobe to get to the pool from your room. It gets chilly up there in winter. Each day at tea time after xcountry skiing on the well groomed trails, the lobby had hot drinks and scones in multiple flavors. Day one, the scones were stale and the second day there were more flavors and they came out hot. We took advantage and booked a horse drawn sleigh ride on the property. It was adorable. Short and sweet. Its BYOB- bring your own blanket on the ride. We had dinner at the tavern and all the food was excellent! There was a live musician that was top notch too.
We were in the Oaks building separate from the main inn but closer to the pool and we were quite comfortable except for the bathroom floor which was so cold it hurt to step on it barefoot. The floor by the bed was a little drafty too.
We appreciate that it is a challenge to stay on top of the upkeep of an old inn and we appreciated the charming quirkiness of staying in an old building. I would go again, but just expect things to run hot and cold.

Well kept, clean, plenty of room, nice pub, great location, friendly staff.

Great hotel, Nice town, Amazing staff!
3.0
Place was nice but a little outdated. The suites were much smaller than what the pictures would lead you to believe and therefore a bit overpriced. Also, they didn’t post that their pool was shut down on their website.

Easy check in and pleasant staff

Just a terrible stay, outdated and musty smelling rooms that were dirty.. we found dog hair innboth of our beds.
2.0
Very noisy. Other occupants in same building inconsiderate of others, loud, slamming doors, stomping on stairs, etc. More like an elderly encampment than a high-end country resort.

Our room was terrible..steady leaking shower that flowed into the entire bathroom floor, brown water with scum coming out of sink.. after asking for maintenance to fix all issues we returned to room with a note that we were being upgraded. They upgraded us to a very nice, clean and comfortable suite in the main area of resort. This was my third time at this hotel and unfortunately will be my last 😕 very upsetting to see this beloved beautiful historic resort in disrepair

Its a nice resort with good dining and clean rooms

Don’t waste your time or money here. The name should be changed from “resort” to “motel,” over priced Motel at that! Went to take shower in am, waited forever for water to get warm then I realized this is the hottest it will get which was almost lukewarm. Got out and dried off as fast as possible to get warm. With this info, my wife didn’t even want to try to shower. Told front desk about this when checking out, not even an apology. And the resort fee is an extra $34 for the pool, the use of kayaks and a couple other things we didn’t use (who swims in an outdoor pool the third week in September in Maine?) So since the shower was cold and we didn’t use any facilities, I asked if they would comp the breakfast. She said “no” but I could tell she thought I was strange for even asking. I like to patronize family and non-chain companies because of the appreciation and personal touch but I may as well stayed at a chain.

Fire alarm went off at midnight, no one was at the front desk during fire alarm.

We arrived slightly after 11pm to find the front door locked and our room keys taped to the door. The sign said to type in your code to access the door. Well we never received a code. I called the phone number on the door which stated call for service or emergency . Tried 4 times to no answer. We were out $415 and no where to stay. Thank you Bethel inn

Lovely old timey inn and beautiful surroundings. Great gym and pool area and an amazing lakeside canoe option! Our jetted tub did not work and they were unable to fix it while we were there. Otherwise, we had a nice time!

The rooms are very comfortable, however they are a little dated and could use an update. Mattress and pillows should be upgraded

Code given did not work, no fridge, no microwave, ice was only in seperate building, pool did not open, buffet style breakfast wasn't even complimentary, billed me $50 for cold buffet style breakfast. So I paid $600 for...um, a bed to sleep in I guess
1.5
We paid $325 a night to stay here and it really needs updating! Did not get a photo of the side chair but the arms were thread bare and if it were in my home it would be thrown out or reupholstered. The king bed we each had to hug the edge to have a flat surface to sleep on, buy a new mattress for gods sake! It’s the one thing people care about the most! No dead bolt … did not scream safety but maybe that’s just me?? I like to deadbolt the door knowing someone who may have a key cannot just enter my room when I’m sleeping. Would not go back.

A nice convenient place to stay. Very accommodating. Dining was short staffed but they still served regardless and maintained composure. It is a fairly busy place, golf course, many rooms, a pool, tavern. If looking for a more quiet peaceful stay consider something more remote.
3.0
No microwave or refrigerator. No ice bucket. Ice was in another building, upstairs, back in a far corner hallway. Parking not convenient for loading luggage.

Very nice property. This is an “Inn” so I expected that I could get toothpaste since I forgot mine. Apparently not. Small issue for sure but it’s the little things that make a place.

I arrived at 8:10pm after a very long ride to get there. I went to the tavern and all I could get was drinks. The kitchen closed at 8pm. Couldn’t get breakfast until 7:30am.

To start with the first thing my wife did was go to the bathroom. The toilet wouldn’t flush we had to call the front desk for help. The furniture in the room was shot you could see a lot of ware on the couch and chair. Every thing went ok thru the night. In the morning we went to o take a shower but we skipped it after seeing all the hair and soap scum in it so we promptly left

Dirty and bad service

Front door would not close creating an unsafe situation. I had to bend down on the floor and unplug microwave in order to use coffeemaker and then reply microwave
No fan in bathroom for steam

Extremely friendly, helpful staff at the front desk. She not only greeted us with a smile, she escorted us to our room and made sure everything was perfect. Our room was large, the beds were comfortable. The pillows were perfect and everything was very clean.

Booked last minute. Check in was fine- in fact we were upgraded upon registration. The facility is bit dated but perfect for two tired guys looking for good night's sleep after hiking.

Tiny room. Overpriced. Tried to bill us full amount for room.
