The apartment was well-renovated and nicely decorated, and it was perfectly located in the center of Alguer.

The mattresses were really old, and I had to ask the landlady to change to another room, as my back was hurting. I hope they fix them for other guests.

In the city centre, close to everything. Welcomed by the owner who carried our bags up the stairs to our room - thank you! Super clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Capsule coffee machine was a bonus.

Noisy plumbing and the water in the shower went cold on one of the 2 days we stayed there. No exhaust fan in the bathroom which may be typical for Italian bathrooms?

Location, access to restaurants, bars and historical areas.

We had 4 nights booked. At our late arrival we were greeted by the female owner who was very nice. But on arrival we noted a strong drain smell which we assumed was only around the hallways and perhaps temporary. Unfortunately as the late night passed the sour dirty drain smell strongly permeated the whole room / bathroom. Though surfaces were clean the bedding felt damp on both sleeping areas. We had an awful nights sleep in a damp bed with the smell of drains as strong as ever throughout the night. it made us feel very sick. Due to Algero being busy due to the festa and no sign of the room smell and damp feeling within Palau de Rosa improving, we rapidly moved to different accommodation. We informed the owners we had left and why. Though they asked us a few questions they did not offer any alternative e.g. 1 or 2 nights refund and stopped replying once we mentioned the dirty drain smells and damp conditions within the room. They said sorry, that was all we got. We cannot recommend Palau De Rosa and we feel very let down. We feel the owners could have discussed the issues with us and offered at least a nights refund. They rapidly stopped communicating once we voiced why we had to leave. We had been looking forward to staying here as the pictures give a good impression. But it should be noted the rooms are dark, and ours (despite being at the front) was dark, damp with the worst smell we have experienced at any accommodation. Though others have given better reviews these were some time ago. We are fair-minded travellers who do not give bad reviews lightly. We have travelled across the world before covid and since. Our 2nd accommodation was lovely and fresh, and we visited friends at two other guest houses in Algero, one near Palau de Rosa, both were fresh and the guests were happy so it wasn't a case of our room being the issue as the smell went into the hall too. Palau de Rosa is not represented as it actually is.

Lovely host who was happy to accommodate my early arrival. Good size shower which is often rare in Italy!

The apartman is in excelent location, in the heart of the old town. You can reach everytihnk on foot. The room is nice, and it was clean. Only downside that there are a lot of bars nearby, and it can be quite loude during the evening.

The wifi connection was really bad. There was a signal strengthener in the room, but it wasn't connected to a network.

Big room, very clean and nicely decorated, spacious wardrobe. Also big bathroom with a window and plenty of space to put your things. Drying line in the room. Our room was very quiet with the window to the back of the building. Excellent location right in the centre of the old town. Not a massive problem to find parking space for free 10-15 min away

Second floor and narrow stairs, only a problem with heavy luggage.

this was shared before we came, so we were aware of it, but it is important to note that there is only paid parking options, which may add to your travel budget & you should plan additional time to find a parking

Great location in the old town. Located on a busy pedestrian street, but the room was very quiet. Air con was great for a summer visit. Mini fridge was useful too. This place has everything needed for a short visit to Alghero.

Nice room in the city center! Room is spacious and clean. Owner was really nice.

There is no breakfast: there are some croissant is plastic foil (which doesn’t look good). Beds were hard for our taste and cushions were too soft.

It's about small things which counts and the fact we had a sun umbrella provided by accommodation, it was amazing. Specially when you travel light and you can't carry all sort of things. Then, it was the breakfast, not like an official one, but we had coffee and pastry on the house :)

Big room. Nice host. He waited for us at the time communicated to the address, he explained everything to us in great detail. We liked that in the fridge was water, also that it was a coffee machine. And the view was amazing. Thank you.

Very very clean disinfectants everywhere every day send msg to ask if we want the room cleaned if we need fresh towels the lady was very friendly and tryed to help even she doesn't speak much english bed was super comfy and really big would 100% recomend
