They let us check in early and the staff were super friendly. Idyllwild hospitality at its best. Cabin was cozy and quiet. Heater kept it nice and warm. Great place to stay when we came to see the Christmas Tree Lighting. I've been to this sleepy mountain town a few times before, and yes I would absolutely stay at their Sugar Pine Lodge again. It's a short walk round the corner from the main Inn and nice to be a bit away from the bustle of the town. Pretty much no noise and could not hear the road at all - hugely important!

Pretty clean. I was sneezy and bit itchy. Despite saying no pets i feel as if they had some in the Sugar Pine Lodge at some point. My only wish would have been a real wood fireplace and some comfy chairs rather than the tin armchair and wooden bench and gas fire. But it was warm and still very cute.

The cabin was well equipped, spacious, and really perfect for our family of 4. There was a small issue when checking in (it wasn’t quite ready) but the staff was so gracious and went above and beyond to make it right. We had a wonderful time playing the board games, too. My 4 year old asks regularly when we’re going back!

I didn’t understand that the cabins aren’t on the property of this inn, so I was expected to be in the heart of town. It was a short drive which was manageable, but with kids in car seats, I was hoping to be walking distance from the shops/restaurants. The cabin had beautiful tall windows, so if you’re at all light sensitive, I would bring an eye mask. Not a requirement by any means, but the option of installing temporary baby gates on the stairs would have been amazing.

Location was great. Right in the center of town and walking distance to restaurants and stores. Liked the concept of stand-alone cabins.

Our cabin reeked of cigarette smoke. The room is advertised as non-smoking, but there was even an ashtray inside. The awful smell ruined it for us. Just gross :( Only some of the windows opened. The wooden walls were etched and tagged on inside the cabin, which didn't make for a comfortable experience. This was a disappointing experience :( We let the staff know about the powerful stench in the cabin. There was no compensation or remedy.

The owners are friendly, helpful and just delightful She bakes awesome pies! And the little store is so helpful. Location is terrific. The interiors are comfortable and ours was particularly unique! Very fun.

Needed to leave the windows open for fresh air. But it wasn't very bright. And it was very quiet so not much of a problem. Uhm... Had to park a little ways from the room and carry our stuff up to it.

The staff was amazing. I was alone with my two young kids and they really went out if their way to make sure I had an easier life.

In the heart of Idyllwild, the cabin was in a quiet but very central area in Idyllwild. The cabin was super cute and had two porch (front and back) to drink your coffee in the morning or have a drink at sunset. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The kitchen was well supplied with coffee and appliances. The best part was all the carvings made by previous guests on the wooden wall.

The weather was really hot (heat wave) when I was there and in my cabin they were no AC. I managed by closing the curtains and by blasting the large fan in the room. At night it was perfect temperature. The wifi was not really working from my cabin.

It's a great location- right in center of town- can walk to everything- but still quiet. All the necessary amenities (a/c, fridge, microwave) plus fireplace. Comfortable bed. Friendly and reliable.

We stayed in a theme room (the Fall room), and it was cute and rustic enough without being over the top and hokey. Thick plush carpet on the floor ( which has become a novelty in the hotel world). Fridge has a separate freezer which is nice, microwave and k-cup coffee maker worked just fine. Did not check out the fireplace, since the weather was nice. Bed was comfy, there were plenty of pillows, as well as enough bedding. Bathroom sink is separate from the toilet area, which can be very handy Grounds were great with plenty of wandering paths and areas to sit. There's a playground but it's a little outdated, which might be fine or not, depending on your stress level as a parent. We didn't have any kids with us so it didn't matter. It is right in the heart of downtown Idyllwild, while still being quiet and peaceful. The cabins looked like they would be fun to stay in as well, and I think they have up to a three bedroom. Made me wish I had the kind of family that arranged reunions; they have enough varieties of lodging, and enough space between most of them, to accommodate a nice family reunion. Be aware that Booking.com does not (cannot?) make it clear that only some of the Inn's lodgings are pet friendly; I don't know how their software could manage varying rules. No pets are allowed in the themed rooms, but they are allowed in the cabins, I believe. Just send the Inn a message or call them, if you plan to bring a pet. They were very responsive both by phone and by message through booking.com We had a fantastic time, and enjoyed ourselves immensely, and a big part of that was our relaxing lodgings at the Idyllwild Inn. Oh, and the chicken fried steak from nearby Mama's Egg House... yum!
