Very fast check in. Great area near all the action! Comfortable bed, the best shower, EVER!! Quick and easy checkout. A little loud at night, but you must consider the area.

Hotel refused to allow my guest to stay but the Haven hotel had no problem. Would never recommend staying at El Zarzo EVER! Extremely inconvenient and the staff was very rude to my guest. Haven hotel was excellent.

This property was spectacular. We were really blown away by the exceptional service since checking in. All the staff we had encounters with were always trying to ensure we felt like we had everything we needed. Cocina 33 roof top had free breakfast for guests that were cooked with fresh juice and coffee. Not to mention the drinks were always stellar. The area is VERY safe. As a first time visitor to this country, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Everything was in walking distance; there were some phenomenal restaurants in the area. There’s many convenience stores as well. Exchange places for money, atms, and transportation was easy to pick us up.

We were handed a master key card that could open all the other rooms of the hotel. Didn’t seem to matter to anyone. Handed it back later at the reception. The last day, people just walked into our room at 8 a.m. while one of us was still asleep. No one at the reception could tell who that was and why. Loud music in the corridors that we could hear clearly in our room. They turned it down at our request, which was nice of course. At evening and night they were playing music on the rooftop bar with that much bass that we could hear and feel the vibrations in our bed on the 2nd floor! Went on for hours at least until 3 a.m., several nights in a row. And when we complained, that did not surprise them. We were told that they had several complaints from other guests and they are aware of it. Aircon was constantly set to 16° C in our room. No one was able to fix it. Changed rooms. There, temperature was set to 20° C, which was still not comfortable but anyways. The water was lukewarm. Okay for shower, but the bathtub could not be used at this temperature. For breakfast, there was neither a buffet nor a menu to choose from. The few options were given by the waiter: Several variations of eggs. How about cereals, bread, etc. as an alternative? Smoking was not allowed anywhere in the hotel, not even on the terrace. Guests had to leave the hotel and smoke on the street. Overall: Not ready to serve customers professionally or at least offer the bare minimum for a hotel: a place to sleep.

Just perfect

The hotel was great and the staff was amazing. The hotel is well maintain and very luxury in confort. Food at the bar was delicious. All servers at the bar very professionals and very detailed oriented with the customers. In my case because it was my first time in the city they gave me good tips to be safe and for dinner in other restaurants also information about city history. I will comeback to the hotel in future vacations. Notelkis.

Awesome location and great staff

The hotel was situated in an area which I didn’t feel very comfortable walking around at night. The staff was friendly, and the food at the hotel was good, but I didn’t get a hot shower in the three days I was there. That said, I couldn’t even use the bathtub because I couldn’t get the water hot enough. The sliding glass door to my room was broke and went to the outside so I didn’t feel very safe. There was no pool or gym at the hotel so I had to walk about a mile to work out and unfortunately did not have a pool to use during my trip. The hallways within the hotel were very outdated and creepy. The hallway carpet was a cheap commercial grade carpet.

Great location and rooms, service was excellent. We were on the 5th floor and the hotel bar is on the 6th floor so we had a lot of noise in our room from the music in the bar.

This is a fairly recent boutique hotel with a lot of potential. Great staff, very nice rooms, an excellent rooftop bar, and a very good restaurant (Cocina 33). BUT, as has been written in other reviews, they must address sound-proofing their rooms, mostly from the nearby discotheque. When it is operating (which is at least Thurdays to Saturdays) their loud music and bass-created vibration is felt in the rooms until 4am. To make things worse, their better rooms (deluxe), which are very roomy and otherwise comfortable, are the ones on the building side closest to the noise. So, if you value your sleep, beware. The hotel has actually only 16 rooms (four per floor between floors 2 and 5). Rooftop bar takes up floor 6. As I said, I think it has great potential but they must sound-proof much better their rooms. Breakfast is very good but they should add some variety, for example, pancakes or waffles, oatmeal, and/or other cereal choices.

We absolutely love the stay, clean, comfortable hotel, near the night activities but not in the middle of it.
