Hidden gem!

Truly exceptional. Felt like staying in somebody’s beautiful home as a very welcome guest. Looking forward to our next stay already!

The hotel smelled lovely and the Acqua di Palma toiletries were great. Breakfast was served until late so you didn't have to get up too early.

The grounds were nice but the location was very surburban and quiet. One of the staff was incredible and helpful and he really made a difference to our stay with recommendations of where to go but the rest didn't go over and above. The hotel was so quiet (which was good in some ways) but it was difficult to get any service and when we did, it wasn't particularly efficient with items being missed, etc. The lack of aircon was an issue as it was really hot and the family accommodation wasn't great. It felt a bit tired plus there was a low beam between the rooms which our teenager kept bumping his head on - there was nothing to highlight the jeopardy. Our kids hated the fact that the Wifi was so terrible too. Breakfast was fine but not what I'd expect of a five star hotel. Also, there was a supplement for eggs which was odd. I'd emailed the hotel several times before we went with some enquiries but received no replies. The pool was a good temperature but a strange size and there was just nothing to make it exceptional which was disappointing as it was really expensive and we'd booked it to celebrate a special birthday.
