The cottage was so clean and the beds and linen were amazingly comfortable. We loved the board games and the toiletries are a lovely touch. Loo rolls and washing up liquid provided too! The check in process is simple with a door code and the location was great with free parking just around the corner and a little shop for milk almost next door. The village cafe sold delicious sausage rolls !

There were just a few tiny things which are easy to fix! The freezer is so frozen full of ice you cannot use it at all. It just needs defrosting. The garden needs tidying because it isn’t usable currently. There were bags of previous people’s rubbish in the back of the garden and it is very overgrown. As this is dog friendly a tidy outside space would be nice.

The bed was comfy and the property was good and clean. There’s a good shower.

Given the price of the property, I expected better facilities. The road (which is about a metre from the front of the property) is extremely busy and noisy. The garden is small and could be lovely but was very weedy and neglected. There’s no dining table despite advertising itself as being able to cook there. It says it sleeps six but only has four seats on two sofas. Two of the five mugs had chips in them. There’s no plug in the kitchen sink and no washing up bowl. The only bathroom and toilet is downstairs which you can see if you look very closely at the photos but isn’t made clear.

I had to be based in Ditchling, so it suited me. It has two bedrooms so a friend was able to stay.

The single glazed windows meant the traffic noise was horrendous. I had earplugs thankfully, but I couldn’t open the window and the heavy duvet was far too warm for the summer heat. The TV was little more than a conversation piece, it wasn’t connected to an aerial so no regular TV channels and the other streaming channels I could access (2) kept dropping out. The garden had one sad chair and a load of weeds, such a shame not to be able to sit outside on a sunny morning. Overall it was fine, but it could have been a lot nicer and more welcoming.
