Enjoyed the newly renovated room!

Clean and comfortable. TV was a bit fuzzy.

Staff was friendly. Hotel is under renovations and it appears that they are attempting to bring life back to it. Didn’t mind the location. Room was outdated, but with renovations and upgrades I think it’ll be a convenient, reasonable place to stay.

Room was priced right. Some upgrades had been made in room. Bathroom was still outdated. TV had poor quality image. Bed was comfortable and AC worked great. Centrally located if you are going to Horseshoe curve or the Railroad yard/Museum in Altoona.

The room was clean but the hotel is under renovation so there was no Wi-Fi & no breakfast. Don't know if breakfast was ever offered but the Wi-Fi was in the online ad as well as the Altoona guide book.

Our stay was so, so at best. Essentially, we had a bed & shower for comfort. The wifi was supposedly down, though that may hae Ve had more to do with non payment. The tv was nearly unwatchable with streaks on the screen from bad connection. Needless to say, we won't be staying there anytime soon.

Good location

Didn’t know anything about the attraction Horseshoe Curve. We drove to attraction to find it closed on Tuesdays. No trespassing signs were posted. Disappointed

I DiD NoT stay here! It seemed vacant and unsafe BUT the front desk person who I spoke to by phone was very responsive and helpful. My visit was in May 2024. The property is very wide, low rise and set back and away from the frontage road. Actually behind an old Asian restaurant of sorts. The pking lot was vacant. One sketchy person emerged and I left. Didn’t even bother to go in. Called the hotel and cancelled but was charged by Expedia:/ I can not say what the condition was beyond that description so I apologize if it is inaccurate but there’s no other way to make the description on this silly app

My room was functional and clean. Property undergoing some room renovations. Overall, it gets the job done for the price you are paying. No complaints.

Mike informed water issues and Expedia helped me find an alternative hotel else I would be stranded

Felt like me and my mate were being judged and watched and talked about we felt very uncomfortable there and it's usually not like that

It was clear that the room I was in was or is used for smoking. Motel was kind of a ghost town, with evidence of only a couple of other rooms filled. Supposedly under renovation as well.

Nice quiet place!! Wonderful staff, clean rooms. We even locked ourselves out an had to wake up the worker an have him let us in!! Amazing place

We we need a little bit more time to check out and they were very kind to oblige us and the one lady was very helpful in helping with the bags and things like that was very impressed with the place

When I showed up at 10:15 pm, the Horseshoe Curve Lodge was closed. I rang the buzzer and knocked on the glass door with no answer. They should be taken off hotels.com.

This was a fine place. Cheap, and old but as a midpoint in our trip it was a clean bed at an inexpensive price. The bathroom was particularly dated, but it worked. In sum, it was everything I needed for the price. Would stay here again.

Good service

Hotel was clean, but very dated. They are remodeling some of the rooms. Beds were very comfortable. Front desk was exceptional. No frills, but very inexpensive. Have stayed here multiple times.

I paid for my room on Expedia and they had changed the credit card info on me when I wanted to check-in (Weird as this never happened before with Expedia). Staff asked for my credit card for information purpose only then he charged me the second time. I was furious obviously but the manager came around and helped. She cancelled the transaction and actually paid for the room after 1 hour wait since Expedia never sent them the money I paid initially. Next day, Expedia sorted it and paid her back. Overall, the staff were friendly, room was ok but smellsd of smoke.

Fraudulent Motel! Do not book this accommodation if you don’t want to risk to be charged twice. After having paid for a room at this Motel already during the online booking, I was charged more or less the same amount when I arrived at the property. I was asked for my credit card for purely formal reasons and didn't realize the scam until the next day. Unfortunately this website didn't really help me with this obvious fraud. To make it short: Avoid this place! You will find – even for little money – a better and above all more honest accommodation than this.

They are currently renovating and it does need a lot of work but they had cleaned the room well, the shower was hot and the bed was very comfortable. I had an excellent night’s sleep and felt clean and refreshed in the morning. For less than $70 what more can you ask for? It’s not the Ritz but either was the price.

Can definitely tell that it was once a hotel that allowed smoking in the rooms.

Management quit prior to check in. Couldn’t check in for almost 1.5 hrs later. Asked for a first floor/ accessible room only to be told they were completely booked and needed to use the stairs to gain access. Later that night found only 6 cars in parking lot. Staff completely lied to me. Room smells like smoke even though they told me they were non smoking and they charge $150 cleaning fee if we smoked indoors.

We like it so far, even the room need to be refresh air from time to time, not feel secure as the rooms face open yard, no fence around the area with an entrance. So cool and friendly front desk.

First, this property is undergoing a renaissance from a corporate property to private ownership so there are some rough edges. That said, my room was clean, no odors, well stocked, the beds were awesome and each had 3 pillows. The property is along a main road yet it's quiet. I had a slight snag at check-in because Expedia cancelled my reservation but the young lady at the front desk took it in stride and had everything sorted out in minutes. As i stated earlier, the property is under renovation but it was clean, comfortable and had an excellent flat screen TV on the wall. Lots of linens which were spotless and fresh. Water had good pressure and the hot water was hot. If you're looking for the Ritz-Carlton, this isn't it but what it is is an excellent value for the price. I used to stay down the road at another motel but they've taken advantage of the COVID situation and doubled their rates for a room that was already stretching its value. I hope the same does not occur here.
