Great off-the-beaten track location on the North Shore a few meters from the beach. The property has a fully stocked kitchen and four bedrooms. The bus stops nearby and takes you to all the sights in the area. The hosts seemed keen to help make our stay the best it could be at the beginning. Two families stayed here and the the kids (aged 8, 8, 6, 5) loved it.

When we arrived we were told the backyard was off limits because of a dog which was a downer given we have kids. The property was clean to look at initially but there was thick dust on many surfaces including the fans. Bring your own eye mask if you want to sleep in because most bedrooms have sheer window coverings only. We started to feel like asking for basic extras was a big deal, for example we asked for some clothes pins for hanging out clothes and a spare set of sheets in case they were needed through the night (did I mention we have kids!) and the owners reminded us we were not staying in a hotel. And this accommodation is expensive, even by Hawaiian standards (although perhaps not by North Shore standards). The payment was managed by the owners privately, not through booking.com which would have been our preference and we did not learn that until the day after our stay (this may have been my oversight). Finally, the owners (who live next door) had a LOT of contact with us everyday. Before our stay and at the beginning I experienced this as friendly and helpful; by the end, we felt this was intrusive.
