The gentleman at the front desk was awesome, it was early am too. Only complaint is the floors need better cleaning, other than that it was great.

Sorry, this is not an 8!! it worked in a pinch as it's right off the freeway, but it's dirty. Wife didn't dig it at all. Would I stay there again, only if I had to, but more than likely would keep driving to the next hotel.

The room was dirty there were dead bugs behind the bed, the shower was disgusting my kids were afraid to use it. the water in the shower kept running all night even when it was off. Some of the outlets did not work. The pool looks like a big green hole in the ground unusable. The grass outside the window by the pool was taller than a small person.The photos on hotels.com looked like a nice motel. The only positive thing I can say about this motel was the very nice lady at check-in.

I did not get to stay. They took the money out of my account and when i got there they said my reservation had been cancelled. He then went on to try to make me pay for a room . WHATEVER YOU DO DONT BOOK THIS ROOM. He said he doesn't use Expedia or hotel.com. He refuses to return money. I ended up driving over the river and staying somewhere else. For what i had originally paid here. He gets the bookings. He cancels them. And then tries to make you pay for a room . I PRAY YOU LISTENED TO THIS WARNING DO NOT THINK YOU WILL BE DIFFERENT AND I WAS MAD WHEN POSTING THIS. LOOK AT THE REVIEWS THEY ARE ALL TRUE I HAVE NO DOUBTS

I never stayed at this property... And thank goodness I didn’t... the hotel was in disarray, holes in the floor and wallpaper peeling off the walls.. they claimed it was for renovation. When I arrived for check in on 2/1 the front desk person told me that their system had a bug and that my reservation had been cancelled. Although I was never supposed to be charged until check in, I had a charge for the amount of my stay 2 days before (1/31) I even got into the state. I contacted the hotel customer service directly, the third party OYO owner and Expedia... the hotel in person and the Expedia Customer Service Repsaid I should have never been charged and it wasn’t by Expedia, or the hotel itself. “They had no record of the billing”. OYO told me the reservation had been canceled and that my money was refunded, but despite an hour on the phone with a Customer service Rep I couldn’t hear or understand, they could not produce a cancelation confirmation and sent me the “Cancelled” details of my booking by email after claiming it had been cancelled. This experience has been HORRENDOUS, and the Expedia Customer Service Rep recommended I dispute the charge with my bank. No attempt to help or resolve my issue whatsoever!! I will never use Expedia again, and have copied and pasted this review on the Hotel Williamstown WV page as well as OYO. Unbelievable!!

Absolutely the worst check in experience ever. Prepaid on line. It took me 2 hours to get checked in .. the hotel clerk couldn't find my reservation and he wouldn't let me check in without it. It took me 2 hours to check in. After talking with multiple people. 2 hours it took and finally got a room and it was freezing cold and the bathroom light would not work

There were ants EVERYWHERE. they told us not to smoke, but the entire creepy building smelled like a smokers friendly. Still haven’t gotten my $100 deposit back, which is just great. Service wasn’t bad, front desk person was super sweet though. Price wasn’t bad either, but overall, if you’re reading this, pick another hotel.

Reported that toilet bowl was wobbly and seat needed tightened. Never accomplished. They bragged to me about how much better this place will be now under new management. When asked I was told that the ice machine on the lower floor and upper were not working but the one by the desk was. I told them that problem has existed for over 5 years. I have stayed there many times before.

The hotel was very Rundown. We rented two rooms both rooms smell like smoke really bad. My sister-in-law's room had fleas. They advertise breakfast there was none. They advertised a pool the pool outside was half filled with green water. I would not recommend a stay in this hotel.

lobby was dirty, checked in our room and there was food under and around bed..like they didnt sweep floors only what was visible, the glass window looking outside had surley nit been cleaned for months, the shower had hair stuck in the drain, the fridge and nicrowave looked as though outside hadnt been even wiped off, the lampshade was brojen and the tv was an old large 1990 style flatscreen channels barely came in and ones you could watch was hard to see. No recepticals for charging our phone laptop ect...first morning no coffee and free breakfast was cereal...the room to eat in was disqusting food on the floor the mirrors on wall smudged and barely able to see a reflection in them...the second day coffee made but tasted like water...same type of breakfast..and no one ever cleaned swept the floors nor cleaned countertops..it was awful!!! due to the lack of our funds we had to stay 2 more nights upon checkout still the rooms were not cleanned and halways floors ect was filthy. The manager was a isiot literally didnt know anything we asked about and houusekeepin didnt show up one day and also had no water on another day due to maintanace work in area. we still smiled and went about our business politely..unlike them.for our inconvience they not once iffered us a discount anything nothing to try to say ir apologize for the filth no breakfast no coffe no housekeeping.. this hotel i wouldnt even give it a 1.

How am I writing a review if I never stayed at the Sunshine Lodge? Let me explain.
I filled out all the paperwork at check-in. I was asked if I had a pet and I told the manager I did. He told me the hotel charges higher rates for larger pets. I told him that I read the Sunshine Lodge Terms and Conditions on Expedia before booking and there was one flat rate for pets. He told me Expedia sets those rates but his are different. I told him that every hotel has their own pet fee policy and hotels input these rates into their Expedia listing. He disagreed. I told him to call Expedia to clarify, he would not. I asked if I could use the hotel lobby phone to call and he would not allow me to. I told him my cell phone (T-Mobile) does not work in his city and he told me I can go to the pay phone at the gas station (which I did) and Expedia confirmed I was right.
I came back and asked him to honor the T/C of his hotel listing. He would not. I paid him his higher pet rate in cash and asked for a receipt, I planned to contact Expedia when I got to my room. He would not give me a receipt. After arguing with this poorly skilled manager I decided to get my dog out of my hot car and I brought him into the lobby (after conceding to pay his inflated pet fee). He did not want the dog in the lobby, I wanted a receipt for the cash I paid him, he called the police.
The police brokered an agreement that he would refund my money and I would find another hotel. I changed hotels. He kept my money!!
