This hotel was perfectly located for us since it is steps from the train station. Likewise it is very close to downtown restaurants and shopping, the castle, Tour de Lu, etc. The spacious room was very quiet (sonorisé) so no need for ear plugs and had a lot of windows. No hallway noise. Stairs are easy to find (I always use the stairs instead of the elevator except on arrival and departure. The breakfast is very good although I had to always ask for "HOT HOT" water for my morning tea. The restaurant, for lunch or dinner, for example, is quite expensive so I recommend go to local restaurants. Bedding was clean-smelling, towels in good shape. The drain in the shower in my room needed to be unplugged so after my shower there was quite a bit of water on the floor. The desk went the length of the wall which was so convenient.

We arrived and no one was available at reception. We had to wait for someone to show up. Staff not fry. Hard to communicate. Staff speaks a few words in English. Bathroom was pretty dirty. Lots of mold in the shower. Restaurant didn’t have a good variety of food. Coffee does not have the best flavor. It was not fresh.

I stayed in the hotel for 6 days in August 2023. I was a bit worried about the noise from the trains since the hotel is located right next to the Gare de Nantes. Fortunately, the noise was not an issue in my room that was facing the canal. However, it may be different in rooms that face the railway station or the rail tracks. The hotel is a 10 minutes' walk to the old downtown. The surrounding area (the south station) is quite well kept. The breakfast was fine with good selections. If you can add breakfast at a low price (say, $10 per person per day), I would strongly recommend it. I ask the hotel to serve hot potatoes, which are not expensive but filling.

There were open pots of jams and out of one flew a house fly on looking around there was another on the eggs. On complaining to staff I did get new pot of jam but there should be insect killing wall units installed.

Excellent hotel with easy access to Nantes trams (three minutes' walk across the station). Really good breakfasts, staff who seem to care. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nantes.

Buffet breakfast was lovely, however €17 euro per head (same price for a child).....nearly died of shock!!! Room needs a proper hoovering around perimeter. Nice size and bathroom immaculate. Would stay again.... But not have breakfast!!!

I know and like the Mercure brand. But this is the one Mercure hotel I will not be returning to. Expensive (twice the price of the Mercure I stayed in the previous night. Small room. Didn’t like the glass shower room. Check in terrrible. There was a conference that had taken over reception and I was turned away but found a man with a pc in the bag checking in non-conference guests.
Only good point was the magnifying shaving mirror in the bathroom.
Will not return but will continue to use other Mercure hotels.

Lovely hotel. The staff were always helpful and most had very good English. The breakfast buffet was probably one of the best I've seen with the option of cooking your own free eggs and pancakes.

The hotel is well located for the town centre and excellent for the station. The rooms are modern and clean but a little small, OK for an overnight stay but you wouldn't want to stay much longer.
The FREE parking is excellent and is a real bonus.
All in all we could not complain.
