The Hotel is very quaint and on par with Hotel Roanoke for aesthetic purposes; however, the cleanliness was sub par. The bathroom door lock appeared to have been jimmied and left a sharp piece of metal sticking out that bit my thumb as I opened the door- I was concerned the baby would be injured too. The room was spacious enough and the decor was inviting. I loved that each room was named after a British author-we also received a bookmark! I would stay there again, but definitely address housekeeping issues in the beginning instead of at the end- the sink was gross with mold and hair- I couldn’t get water to go down

The lobby and halls and most of the room was very clean and the bed very comfortable.
One issue was that two of the lights and the phone were not plugged in and I had to pull out two heavy tables to get to the plugs. It took about a half hour to get the phone charged enough to call the front desk. Also, when I pulled out one of the tables, there was a LOT of dust and fuzzy stuff along the wall behind it. If you are going to make a guest pull out a heavy table, at least clean behind it! Best thing about the place was the staff at the front desk. Very friendly and helpful.

The room was fine. Beds comfortable. Bathroom vanity could use a fresh coat of paint. Weekday free breakfast not ready at 6am as posted. The pub is a fantastic place to hang out!

I really enjoyed the property. Comfortable rooms, really great breakfast. Couple things could be different. First, using the left lane to go down to the parking garage took some getting used to. Also, the bedstead stood out on each corner and I barked my shin two or three times. However, our overall stay was amazing. The pub onsite was fun and Basso, the restaurant across the lot, was fantastic. Great location for access to the highway and Forest Park. Very easy to find (right behind the giant Amoco sign). Love the tie in to English authors and their books/works. Will definitely stay there next time I am in Sait Louis.

Quirky concept that didn't quite pull it off. A bit schizophrenic between overtly campy English themed decor to something that maybe took itself a little more seriously than one would expect. Reasonably clean but mildly dog-eared throughout. The pool was closed (empty) and we were told we could go out to the deck to lounge (and have a drink, etc.) but when we tried our key cards to get out to the poolside and tents, the door wouldn't open. The tv in our room wouldn't turn on. The light switch in the bathroom was hidden behind the towels hanging over the toilet. The in-room coffee maker used a 3-pring plug but there was no place to use it in proximity to where it was set up. Even the business center was still using computers that ran on Windows Vista! Just...weird. Plenty of parking was available but we got charged a fee to park our car (even though they never asked for our vehicle's license plate - unnecessary surcharge if you ask me). I really wanted to like the experience more but these (and a few other) nits just ate away at the experience. The staff was friendly and we had "interesting" drinks from the on-site pub. Again, cool and quirky but didn't stack up to similar conceptual overtures like a House of Blues Hotel or something. Probably won't go back but if you're in a pinch, you could do worse. Give it a shot - who knows, you might have more success than we did. Just temper your expectations.

This hotel is so unique and cozy. It’s my favorite place to stay in the St Louis area, whether a date with my husband or a fun getaway with my daughter and granddaughters. We all love it. The breakfast is the best! Also - ask about their scavenger hunt - very fun & informative!

Beds comfortable. Bathroom dirty with hair on floor, only two towels in room with three guests, no coffee cups. Kudos on wide variety of thing to choose for continental breakfast.

Automated lighting system in bathrooms are a joke. Had to move rooms because the light in first room wouldn’t turn off. Lost about 1 1/2 hours of much needed sleep. Moved to new room and the light would not come on in morning. Had to take shower and get ready in dark. Was planning to extend my stay another night but did not because I didn’t want to deal with light again.

We wanted a weekend getaway by the pool and the Cheshire was perfect for this. We were not aware there was no longer poolside bar service though. It does state it somewhere as an amenity, so I think the website needs to be updated. This themed hotel is a hidden gem in St. Louis. The complimentary breakfast is a great perk.

Very relaxing, paid in full prior to checking in, but they charged a $50 card hold at when checking in. The breakfast spread was incredible and it was fun getting in some photos of the beautiful building with the fam. We will be headed to swim before checking out. Hoping to check out the little pub too.

Overall the property needs allot of upgrades in its condition, the room was mediocre at best, and they don't even provide room service, or turn down service unless you request a day before. I wouldn't stay there again, but it was an experience.
