Great value for your money. Hotel was clean, maybe a little worn in spots, but nothing that impacted our stay. It's not at the same level as a Marriott or Hilton, but given the location, was well worth it. Price included parking and continental breakfast. Staff was friendly. If you're trying to visit Asheville on a budget, this is a good option.

This hotel is great! I have stayed here several times and it’s affordable most of the season, great location, breakfast included and had a 12pm checkout.

I am so disappointed in our stay at the Downtown Inn. We got there ahead of Hurricane Helene, and the staff literally abandoned the property and left all the guests there with no one on property for 2 days. There was no running water, no continental breakfast out, No one was there to check people in when they had confirmed reservations. It was abaolute insanity. They even have the audacity to kick one poor woman out of her room in the middle of the night after her home had been completely demolished because she hadn't paid, but the only reason she hadn't paid was because no one was there for her to pay. As they were kicking her out, she kept saying I am more than happy to pay. I have money to pay for my room. No one was here for me to do so. There were keys out and available for people to use. I understand that this was a devastational time for everybody, and there was nothing they could do about the water and leak, but no one was even there to help with instruction. By the end of the 2nd day a lovely housekeeper was fhere and she did her very best to support but she had VERY limited duties she was allowed to help with. The only plus was that there was a swimming pool, so we were able to use buckets of that water to flush toilets all week.

They did give us 10% off. No offer of another room and the air conditioner did not drip into the bucket it POURED into the bucket every time the air conditioner came on. This room should not be given to any future customers.

Excellent location. Easy walking distance to hundreds of breweries, pubs, and restaurants. Also several live music venues. Room was clean with nice sheets and mattresses and pillows. Looked like pretty new bedding and carpeting. Had waffles, Jimmy Dean breakfast croissants, yogurt, cereal, bagels and other choices for breakfast. We will stay again when in town and would highly recommend to friends and family. Cannot beat the price for the location and a clean room. Don’t be fooled by the older looking exterior. Rooms are nice and clean.

Good place to stay. Free parking and was able to walk to everything we needed. Traffic noise can be loud but it didn't bother us much while sleeping.

Great stay. We have stayed here before and love how affordable it is for this area especially compared to the other nearby places. Yes it is the cheapest place in downtown Asheville which is a huge plus but you are also getting what you pay for. We do keep coming back though. Easy parking on site. Free breakfast. They have a pool. Would stay here again.

It was ok, great location

The property is a bit rough on the outside with a few homeless around. The room was half way decent for the price and location in Asheville, can’t expect more than this for what you pay. Room was clean and the TV worked.

It's an old building, but that's the cleanest place I've stayed! I'll definitely be back!

Be sure to request a room in the back or bring ear plugs. Street noise from the front street rooms was bad. Otherwise the room was clean and breakfast was good. So easy to walk to everything.
