The other problem was they put a couple in the room next to us with a baby at cried from 2: 00AM for about an hour. Didn't get much sleep

Well kept property with an excellent staff. Excellent mattress and a warm well presented breakfast buffet. Would definitely stay at this property again.

Overall an average experience, - the room was acceptable (although with a very funky smell!), staff was friendly and the breakfast pretty good. But some people (guests?) were sleeping like homeless people in the corner of the breakfast area, making it quite awkward/ feeling like a homeless shelter. Staff was there, and clearly alright with it, so I don't know what that was about.

BUT…the breakfast area on a Monday morning needs some SERIOUS policing by management At least half, and probably most, of the people eating breakfast were locals, and probably homeless. Two people were asleep for over a half hour on dining area bench. Two other people came in through a side door, grabbed food & left. 2 or 3 people just sitting at tables and not eating. I get being compassionate and feeding homeless, but this is a business, not a shelter. Also the room next to mine had 2 large bags of trash outside the door in the morning. (Difficult to believe someone visiting 1or 2 nights generated that much trash.) We wont be back — despite having a kid at JMU for the next 4 years.

The shower was installed wrong. There was a new system installed. It did not have a switch to change the water from the faucet to the shower head. It is obvious that now one checked the Plummer’s work. When I explained it to the front desk upon checking out they only offered another room to shower. This was after I had already packed and had 6 hour drive to my home. I will not be staying here again. I also recommend to anyone traveling to pick another location to stay.

It took 15 minutes for a front desk person to show up when checking in. When she did, she was rude and very unfriendly. I got locked out of my room. Gave me me keys- didn't work. The battery on the door had to be changed. That person was kind. The worst part was that the floor above the room squeaked with every step that person took. It was SO loud. I had to turn the TV up. Thank goodness i brought ear plugs because the person never seemed to stop walking around. When checking out the front desk person didn't care. I played an audio recording of the noise and he didn't apologize or have any sympathy at all. None. He said you'll have to go to hotels to get a refund. I asked what he was going to do about the noise for the next person. He just stared at me. They don't care. Don't stay here.

The breakfast buffet was confusing and could have had better options. I actually didn't feel very safe due to a few people young men that seemed to be loitering in the diner area when I checked in? I don't think I will stay at this location again.

The lamp on the desk must have had a short in it as it kept flickering.
