I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with a recent stay at the Howard Johnson Motel in Ocala, FL, which I booked through your platform for the Florida Swim State Championship. The experience was far below the standard I expected, especially considering the price of $100 per night. Upon arrival, I noticed several issues that made my stay uncomfortable and distressing: Moisture and Unpleasant Air Quality: Despite having the air conditioning on, the room had a significant amount of moisture, creating an uncomfortable and unhealthy environment. Unclean Pillows and Bedding: The pillowcases appeared dirty, so I requested fresh ones. However, even after receiving replacement pillows, their quality was subpar and did not provide the expected comfort. Pest Infestation: I encountered multiple cockroaches in the room and killed three during my stay. Additionally, the room had small flies, which I could not identify or trace to their origin. We were careful to keep the door tightly closed when entering and exiting, but this did not seem to help. The combination of these issues made it impossible to feel safe or comfortable during our stay, and I was anxious to leave the property as soon as possible. Considering the numerous problems I encountered, I do not believe the room was worth the $100 per night charge. Given the unacceptable conditions, I am requesting a partial reimbursement for the stay. I trust that Hotels.com values customer satisfaction and hear me out.

The manager of the hotel was very rude and nasty with us after we have stayed there for a week. The hotel is run down and outdated the pool and the hot tub were closed for majority of our stay there and that was the main reason we chose to stay at the property

I feel like they could’ve done a better job cleaning the bathroom in general. It seemed like the front desk gave canned responses to the issues without solving the issues. But, slept like a baby In spite of the exterior noise from the nearby highway. A lot of families with kids seem to really be enjoying the pool and playground areas.

The bathroom window was open and a lot of noise. The bed made alot of noise the chair was very dirty. I checked in and then I checked out. I lost money but who cares the place were horrible. Won't recommend anyone to stay there.

My stay was during hurricane Milton. My stay was okay but the noise level from people outside the room was very loud. We lost cable service but that was expected because of the hurricane. There was no coffee maker in the room.

We evacuated here once our city became unsafe. Mira was very helpful even allowed us to check in early. She was helpful throughout our stay and very sweet!! The room was a little outdated and in need of some touch ups and fresh paint on the ceilings and walls. But we felt safe in the area

I have stayed at this property in the past. We live in Gainesville and had to find somewhere to stay for 1 night because of no power at our home. The hotels in Gainesville either didn't have power or fully booked. So we had to go to Ocala. So i chose this property. Upon arrival the desk clerk was taking care of someone else, then he took care of me. When i gave him my name he looked in the computer and said hang on a minute and went to the back office to talk to someone else, then returned and finished checking me in. I saw absolutely no signs of the customer service cultures that used to be in place at this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great. There were no towels at the pool and the water was slightly dirty, but tolerable. The hot tub was nice and hot, but when we tried to turn on the jets, they didnt work. We had a somking room ,and there was no ash trays in the room. There was no coffee maker in tje room either. We called the front desk and asked if they had any extra ash trays or coffee makers , and got told because of being sold out, thatvthey didn't have any.So very disappointed. This property used to be a great place to stay. I don't think i will ever stay there again.

Booked a handicapped room and then was told they didnt have one. Had to be moved to a king bed room that was not wheelchair accessible. The pool was full of soap suds and not swimmable. The bathroom door was broken and would not shut, the wall decoration was broke and hanging off the wall. The hair dryer did not work and there was no tolite paper. The ceiling was dirty and it smelled of smoke even though it was a no smoking room. Road noose a major issue. Would not stay again for the money.

I looked around at people on that side of the property hanging out on the walkways and it felt a little sketchy. Come to find out, residents are living there. I was given another room after returning to the front desk with a queen instead of a king, which was okay, however the room was musty and the ceiling looked like it may have been moldy. The room key did not work for the pool, and even after reactivating the keys, they did not work on the pool gate and another patron in the pool yard let me in. I tried to call the desk from the pool yard, but the phone was answered asking that I please hold and nobody came back on the line within 4-5 minutes, and I hung up. The next day the desk person gave me new keys but she indicated that the pool was not open yet, and I never had the chance to try the new keys, as I had to pack up and continue with my trip. The breakfast was merely okay, but the room was not costly, so it was fitting. So fresh fruit being offered would've been nice.

Main reason I booked the hotel was so I could relax in the pool some and the pool was closed which happens but it was unfortunate.

We did not stay!!! Wife walked into the room and it reaked of cigarette smoke and unwashed bodies. Plus there were 10 kids playing right in front of our room without a parent in site. Asked for another room, the girl on duty tried but couldn't get us a comparable room.
