The staff were wonderful, kind, and aprochable, the hotel itself is wonderful, though showing a few signs of age and a little wear and tear, but everything in our room worked, the bed was comfortable the food was out of this world! Overall our stay was a wonderful experience and we hope to return there again for our wedding anniversery.

The Manor is a beautiful old building in lovely grounds. All the staff we met were friendly & helpful. The cooked breakfast was delicious, served very hot & to order. Great selection of cold food served as a buffet. Very clean bedding & towels, the room was large but tired. Take note, this is an old building with no lift & lots of stairs to every bedroom which is not a problem to the able bodied!

Room was very cold. 8C outside and the hotel heating was not on. View from the window was bins, downstairs room and one of the windows could not be locked. The Manor House is lovely but the rooms are a 1960/70 block and quite dated with old furniture, veneer peeling off, varnish on desk peeling off. Needs some renovation.

Really enjoyed our stay at The Manor. It was a lovely place, easy parking, great room but it was all of the friendly staff that really made it special. They were so helpful and welcoming.

Close to an onward appointment

It was a grand manor. Yes it does need some repairs but nothing that spoiled our stay or would prevent me recommending it. I would stay there again.

The outside of the hotel and grounds are lovely. The staff are top notch, very friendly and professional. Desperately in need of a lick of paint and a new carpet here and there. Room was clean and comfy, few stains on the floor though. Bit annoying, as with not very much money spent, this could be a 5 star place. Would stay again to enjoy the lovely Tudor mansion and grounds.

We only had one overnight stay but i probably wouldnt look to go back. Due to the age of the property, there is no air con installed which meant our room was incredibly hot. The facilities could be much improved if someone put a bit of thought into it. The outside seating area could be really pretty if there was more lighting but instead its quite dark snd nearly every chair we tried to sit on was broken - wooden furniture needs some tlc. Reception staff are not very chatty. On checking out the next morning, I knew I would be receiving a £30 refund but was informed the system wasnt working so i would have to wait for this to go through when it was up and running. Overall, i'd give this property 3/5, which is a shame as if the people running it put in a bit of thought and effort, it could be beautiful.

Dirty & not very well maintained. Mold on the walls, leaking ceilings...wallpaper peeling off the walls. I would never stay here again.

Sadly this place has more cons then pros. The scenery and surrounding areas are lovely. However the actual hotel is in a bad state. The bathroom in room 36 smelt like a morque. There were spiders fighting each other on the walls and I found someone else's eyelashes in the sink and bathroom. Shocking !! On my second day there was no breakfast as they were doing some refurbishment but no one was helpful enough to advise or offer me something. I had to figure it out and although people seem to think the service is OK unfortunately it wasn't during My stay. Never again and back at the Village Watford in future for only a few extra pounds!

I particularly chose this hotel based on the photos on the website, the rooms looked beautiful and i was happy to find this hotel. We drove from Kent, which is a fairly long journey and were excited to start our weekend together of marking 5 years. We parked up and checked in, the lady at reception was lovely. However when we entered our room we were very disappointed. There was a strong musky smell in the room, the carpet looked filthy and the curtains were a ripped, discoloured brown colour. The curtains were dirty and had lots of marks on them. I have a photo of the curtains however am unable to upload with this review. We were very disheartened with this room and did not feel like we could stay here, we felt misled by the pictures that are online for this hotel as it was nothing like them. 5 minutes after we entered the room we left and we made the decision that we could not stay here. I spoke to the lady at reception and told her my concerns. We then had to find and book another hotel last minute. As you can imagine, this was not a great start to our weekend and we felt very let down. Please can a member of the team contact me regarding a full refund.
