My wife and I (American) were visiting Santarem as my brother and his wife (originally from Santarem) were in town so could be our guides for a few days!
The original hotel that was recommended to me was fully booked so I looked on the map, found this close to riverfront, reviews looked good so I gave it a try. We booked 2 separate stays (as we were doing some traveling inbetween).
The hotel room was excellent - clean, comfortable bed, great air conditioning, a shower/bathroom and a balcony.
The staff were great. They didn't speak much English but we got by fine and they were really friendly. Waldemar was particularly helpful - when we said how much we loved our room for the first stay he ensured we got the same one for our second stay. They really looked after us.
