This is an incredible resort. It’s stunningly beautiful, sparkling clean, the rooms are incredible, unique designs, beautiful touches, amazing views. It’s lush and green with gorgeous landscaping, beautiful pools. The restaurant has great food and is absolutely beautiful. The spa is fantastic. But the best part of Samanvaya… the staff. The most kind, happy, genuine people. They can’t do enough to make your stay perfect.

At first we were m excited to stay here reading others’ reviews and seeing the pictures. But that quickly changed after we weren’t so sure and we were glad we only stayed 2 nights. It was quiet but nit all tunes because there is construction going on and it wasn’t relaxing swimming or relaxing next to hours of loud sounds of hammers for the new villas being built. Also while swimming, one the men was burning a stack of garbage(grass or rice or leaves) right in front of the property and pool so we couldn’t breathe properly and ended up coughing. We brought this to the attention of the management. Also, the room we got Kaya 2 villa had a broken key of the balcony and after checking in we spent a good hour or so dealing with that snd also with the fact that when our room balcony doors were closed there was a huge gap of about 2-3cm left open on both sides where bugs can get it. We brought this to the attention of the staff and they placed two wooden planks to block the open space. Despite that we still had bugs get into the room and bathroom since it is an semi open concept. The bed was comfortable to sleep in, but there is no desk, or proper chair to sit on in the room. There is no Tv, which I didn’t mind but maybe others might. The house next to us blasted loud music for the 2 nights we wre there till midnight so it was hard to sleep. Lots of stairs everywhere. The best thing was the food. Delicious breakfast and wonderful restaurant staff. Eat there, stay elsewhere.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff was so accommodating and the facility was stunning - very clean, quiet, and naturally beautiful. The on-site restaurant and spa service were also excellent. Free breakfast everyday was fresh and there were lots of options. I also enjoyed dinner there too with the staff who were so friendly and always remembered my preferences. I booked a waterfall and natural spring tour as well and my guide was very knowledgeable. We stopped at rice paddies on his scooter and he showed me around the village, which was wonderful. I felt very safe and comfortable during my entire stay, I wish I extended for more days.

Stayed for 3 nights Amazing experience Do wake up at 530am to catch the sunrise at the main pool Stayed at the rice barn, rightfully surreal as we are next to the rice fields, many bugs making noise at night but its part of the "living in the field" experience. Amazing... Staff was super attentive, our needs were all met without a fitch. We decided to purchase the hotel kimono 2hours before our check out, and they had it dry cleaned and washed in time for our check out. Service standards were awesome... This place is simply magical...

Tami is a great host in welcoming us, walking us through our suite, accommodating to our special request to order an early breakfast, explaining what is available on the property (where the dinning hall is, how to call the reception desk from our suite, etc…). The entire staff is very professional and pleasant. I would recommend coming back and staying here for a few more days.

We stayed in one of the Alila rooms which was a lovely bamboo house with stunning views of the mountains. The whole of Samanvaya was superbly clean. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We were on our honeymoon and they made our stay extra special with a beautiful candle lit romantic dinner in our own private dining area with candles and a beautiful flower petal arrangement with our own butler for the evening - Agus who was very attentive and made our stay extra special and one we won’t forget. We also had a 1 hour Balinese massage which was amazing and would recommend. The food is superb. It looks amazing and tastes even better. We didn’t really get to enjoy the outdoor and pool area as it was pretty rainy the 2 days that we stayed but it all looked inviting and would love to visit again so that we could make use of those facilities. We would definitely recommend Samanvaya and we would love to go back too.

The property: beautiful. The food: very good. The spa: very very poor. Saying this hotel has a spa is incorrect - it has a couple of treatment rooms for paid massages. My boyfriend and I had two 90 minute massages which were absolutely terrible and far above the standard Bali price point. I had the most inconsistent pressure with my masseuse - going back and forth between being barely touched and being in actual pain, there was no understanding of anatomy and the therapist tried to massage my boyfriends eyeballs out to the point of bruising the next day. I could not relax one bit and the much cheaper massages I had in Bali were far far better. I really recommend to avoid this ‘spa’ but the hotel itself is very pretty.

Samanvaya holds true to its name, it is truly luxury at its finest. From the villas, to the pools, to the staff and the restaurant, it’s is everything a resort and spa should be. The staff will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable and peaceful. The restaurant has an excellent menu and the food is well balanced and simply delicious. The resort is located right in the middle of the sidemen rice terraces, surrounded by lush green mountains. Every inch of the resorts is well thought out and cultivates relaxation. Will definitely be back for a longer stay.

View is superb, staff are really nice and always bring smile. I only find the room is quite dim even all lights are on, and breakfast portion is small. Overall enjoyable stay!

There were many times I needed/wanted something and could not find anyone nor did they check in. Because of this some meals were two hours long, which for a person traveling solo is much. This was a beautiful hotel with excellent service. The view from the pool and lobby is insanely beautiful- overlooking the rice terraces in Sidemen. Our room was beautiful and we loved keeping the doors to our patio open to feel like we were sleeping outside. We got 2 massages and did a private yoga session with a priest. SUCH a great experience and stay at Samanvaya. I'd highly recommend this for your trip to the Sidemen area.
