We chose this based on tripadvisor recommendations, and we were highly impressed. Room was very clean, generously sized and had a breathtaking view over the lake. We ate dinner in the hotel both nights, which is very unusual for us, but the food and service were so good. Most other guests were german, but we only spoke English and were very welcomed. Has a lovely terrace for breakfast and evening drink. And the local area is amazing, stunning scenery, walks by the lake through forests, so many bike paths, ski lifts, castles and more.

The hotel was very clean, the hospitality was great. The food was excellent. We enjoyed our stay and would go back. The views are breathtaking.

Stayed there for 3 nights in early October & booked a room with a lake view. It was well worth paying the extra for the most amazing views from the balcony of the lake & mountain. The rooms are spacious with plenty of amenities. The food in the restaurant is excellent and, although the staff speak limited English they are very willing to help you as much as possible with the menus. They do half board for an extra 17 euros pppn, which is excellent value for 4 courses. Plenty of choice at breakfast for all tastes, including sparkling wine. The hotel has its own day spa on site and guests are free to use the pool & Sauna during their stay. The hgotel also boasts 2 very friendly cats & a dog which gave it a very homely feel. If i had to make one small compalint is that it is very tricky to find without either Sat Nav' or a map of the local area as it's outside of town off of the 310. It does make it a much quieter location than those closer to town & the only noise you get is the sound of the cowbells in the pstures bellow. Great base for exploring the castles & local walking areas.

Nice hotel, food okay, but service was uninspired in dining room as we were recognized as foreigners. Front desk very codrial and helpful. Hotel has many amenities and is in a beautiful area of Bavaria.

We loved this hotel. The view was great and the staff was very accommodating and nice. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This hotel was out of the way a little bit. I had a car, so it was no problem at all. It is in a great location, about a 15 minute drive to Neuschwanstein. It is not far from Tegelberg, which has a summer time luge track. The Zugspitze (tallest mountain), is only a 45 minute drive away. The staff was very helpful, and some knowledge of English. The food in the restaurant was great - definately worth the cost. If you have a car, definately stay here.

Nice hotel - it was "closed" per the front desk clerk (late November) when we checked in and the restaurant was not open as the cook had a day off... but we did have a nice room which was good after a long drive to get there. Friendly, helpful staff even offered to let me use their cell phone for a call to the states!

Very nice and located in a quite location. Surrauded of green and nature, fantastic for whom whises to stay away from the city caos.

This very European hotel is 10-15 minutes out of Fuessen overlooking one of the area's popular lakes. It is an extremely tranquil, quiet place surrounded by very small villages (settlements?). There is an indoor pool in addition to nearby lake swimming, and there are many places to walk. Limited English is spoken here, but that was never a problem for us.

Professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and they call you by name. Beautiful restaurant with good food & excellent service. (And after we ate once in the restaurant, the spot became OUR table. Hotel Bergruh in Fuessen, Germany was amazing. The view from our room window/balcony was breathtaking- reserve a room "lakeside", it is so worth the extra $. The staff were friendly and helpful- a family run place with charming decor. The food was wonderful- breakfast and dinner. The cleanliness was immaculate. This hotel sits out of the town of fuessen, on a hill top on the Weissen See, just far enough away from the tourists visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. The walk around the Weissen Lake was beautiful- you can also rent bikes. Oh did I mention the view of the German Alps in the background- Right out of the sound of music! When I return to Germany- I'm definately staying at The Hotel Bergruh!!!
