The proprietor's were lovely, and did their absolute best to provide a wonderful experience, unfortunately the pool was too cold to swim in and it would be quite noisy with the truck air brakes during the week, the beds really do need to be updated to more modern mattresses.
All in all though it was a lovely and staff were just wonderful.

The staff were great! the rooms could do with an upgrade and missing a few things cutlery, which made it hard if you up wanting breakfast. but otherwise, it’s a beautiful spot to be staying at.

A clean and tidy motel with basic but adequate facilities. Good value. Convenient breakfast. A good spot to stop en route. 8 year old reports that his “bunk bed was squeaky but it had a playground and lots of space and needs more playground equipment” and gives 3/5. 6 year old reports it was “a little bit small” but gives 5/5. Wife felt “was like a school camp motel” but still 4/5. Overall, a good result!

Room was clean and spacious. Abit above average price. Shower was nice and hot and a very comfy bed. Patio with table, chairs looking over part of lake with some ducks. Had free internet. Lovely quiet and peaceful surrounds, very neat and clean. Unfortunately not very comfortable bed, plus 4 coffee sachets and 4 sugar packets didn’t really hit the mark

Given that is off the main highway the property is set back from the road and is so quiet and peaceful. The owners are friendly and easy to talk with. I will be going back again.

As a family with teenage children, the bedding in these rooms was perfect with 2 singles and a queen. The grounds were lovely, and the check in team were very friendly. Very good value for money when visiting the region. We would stay again.
The only faults we found were that the room was a little musty, but we opened the door for a little while, and it was fixed!

Request to have a meal from the restaurant in my room was met with a $7 room service surcharge response - even though I was happy to collect meal / return all plates utensils. Wet comfortable bed but nestled in the main light fitting in my room was a crushed empty spirits can. Will be my 1 & only stay at Magdala. Definitely not worth the $170+ per night cost. Oh & golfers … don’t (like me) be fooled by the 4 or 6 hole golf course advertising sign.
