My only, or main, complaint is how insufficient the laundry room is. Only one washer and dryer for occupants of a whole hotel to use. Everytime i went there it was being used.

PROS: Honest staff. We forgot our iPad, and they found it for us and held it until we could backtrack to get it. So appreciate their integrity. Also, they made our beds and changed our towels, which we weren’t expecting during our 2 night stay. CONS: Dingy, musty, very humid in the rooms, low lighting. All I had for breakfast was an orange. My daughter’s biscuit was rock hard. The eggs didn’t look real (and the ingredient list for them surprised me!).

Adequate for one night stay. Bed was clean and somewhat comfortable. Towels in the bathroom looked dingy. Lighting in the room was horrible. The whole place looked in need of some repairs. (Hole in stucco wall, broken mirror frame, spots on couch etc). Breakfast area was maintained well.

Staff were great. The hotel is worse for wear. The room was not the cleanest. It had a broken towel rod and a random base to a junction box on the bathroom wall. Visible dried food on the phone cord, stains and marks on almost all walls. Furniture was very worn.

The first thing you'll notice when you walk into the hotel is the smell. I'm thinking it is because of the indoor pool, but the lobby just smelled wet. It wasn't humid, but it smelled damp. The indoor pool isn't far from the reception desk. However, check-in was a breeze, and the staff is friendly. Our room was fine though, and they even had a small dehumidifier running in our room. The beds were fairly comfortable, and our kids enjoyed having the pull out couch to sleep on. The pool was freezing cold though, in my opinion. Our kids enjoyed it, but it was just too cold for me to get in. The hot tub was nice though. The door leading from the pool to the lobby was a little busted though, but I think the staff fixed the problem. For the price of the room, I can't really complain. This hotel is one of the more inexpensive rooms close to downtown Athens, and it's not that bad of a place to stay.

Bed was comfortable but the room was dirty. There dirt on the wall ceiling, the remote to the tv looked like it had dirt and food stuck on it. Bathroom snick had yellow spots in it and what looked to be mold or something on the rim of bathtub. I paid extra for late ck out and felt like I was getting pressured to go.

First room we were booked into the sofa bed had a very bad rust stains, and stuff all over the mattress in the sofa. The second room we were moved to was room 215 and had severe water damage from the sprinkler head run off in the room, I have plenty of pictures.

The front desk person at check-in was very friendly, nice and accommodating. He changed a room from single bed two double beds. That is great customer service. The room(s) were always clean when returning at the end of the day. Providing a winning breakfast is always great. Check-out person was also friendly, nice and very helpful when asked about directions. This hotel provide a great team with good customer service. When I come back I would look to book at Wingate Athens.

I slammed my shin into them multiple times during our stay.

The parking lot was not completely available due to paving. The manager at the front desk was rude. They charged me for early check in $50 and $100 for incidental fee. In addition, I was using a tax exempt form and Expedia had already billed my account for the full balance before I checked in.

The staff is overwhelmed. Front desk clerk, cleans, cooks, and security. The property is rundown. I was greeted with a smile and a warmed welcome. However, a man walking around in lobby, smelling like liquor.. the rooms smell like mold. Damp and dirty carpet. The bathroom door didn’t shut . the couch had a large brown stained . I brought linen. I was given balled up linen for my bed. 3am in the morning, upstairs heard noise from neighbors fighting. Homeless people walking around the property. I saw a man digging into the trash. This place is not safe. No security. The place needs an upgrade or inspection for violations
