We have wisited Kraków severel times. Stayed at different hotels, We was very satisfied with Hotel Columbus, very clean, breakfast small but very tasty, friendly staff good location.. Pack earplugs because off the trams passing by at the front of the hotel... We did have our room at the back against the garden, so we wasn't baderd..

We have wisited Kraków severel times. Stayed at different hotels, We was very satisfied with Hotel Columbus, very clean, breakfast small but very tasty, friendly staff good location.. Pack earplugs because off the trams passing by at the front of the hotel... We did have our room at the back against the garden, so we wasn't baderd..

I had a great stay at the Columbus, a gem of a hotel cloae tonthe Jewish Quarter with some well priced restaurants around. I loved my room, clean, comfortable and quiet with a nice little balcony facing the rear of the building and the air conditioning was very welcome in the hot weather.
There was an excellent breakfast available every morning with plenty of options. One of the receptionists also very kindly helped me outvwith planning a day trip to Wroclaw.
Thus is my thrid teip to Krakow and this has been the best hotel I have stayed in and i hope to return here next time around.

Excellent location for the Old Town (10min walk) Jewish Quarter (1min walk), trams on the doorstep and river 5 mins away. Stay on the upper floors if you can as noise from street (cars/trams) could be a nuisance. When the windows are closed you can hardly hear a thing and the air conditioning takes care of the heat issue. Simple but efficient breakfast was welcome in the morning. No bar to speak of but drinks available to be consumed in the outside area. Overall a relatively cheap, clean, well located hotel. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel was very well placed for the Jewish quarter with plenty of dining options close by. Old town was just a 20 minute walk. Being on a busy street means keeping the windows shut because of tram noise and also restricts taxi pick ups. My only complaint about the hotel was a "sweaty" sleep, due I suspect to a plastic mattress cover.

The hotel was very well placed for the Jewish quarter with plenty of dining options close by. Old town was just a 20 minute walk. Being on a busy street means keeping the windows shut because of tram noise and also restricts taxi pick ups. My only complaint about the hotel was a "sweaty" sleep, due I suspect to a plastic mattress cover.

Negatives: poor tasting filtered coffee at breakfast, no tea/coffee room amenities or kettle.
LOCATION: Right in front of a tram stop, 2 stops away from the Old town, and around a 15 minute walk. OK, but could be better as a bit out of the way to walk into town. Also, avoid front-facing rooms as the tram noise will keep you up at night.
Staff: overall OK, some reception staff better than others. I found that they lacked the warmth of reception staff at the other hotel I stayed in Krakow (also 3* of similar price).
Would I stay again? Possibly, though would prefer a hotel with closer walking proximity to the centre.
