Very nice 3-night stay at the Box House Hotel! Pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. Very comfortable, clean and quiet environment.

From the lobby to the room decor and design, everything is unique and inspired. The location is a quiet spot in Greenpoint, with excellent restaurants, street parking and many other amenities nearby.

There were some great things about this hotel, but small things could've made it better. There was one young gentleman at the front desk who was great. Everything is about people and how they treat you. There were a couple of female front desk personnel who were surly. They initially gave us a bad room with no windows, but then we got a new room with windows a couple of hours later. The breakfast restaurant guy was great. We went there because the price was okay for the area, and the rooms were big. Would I go again, maybe if the price was right. No, with it's current pricing. Also, I absolutely hate it when cleaning personnel wait until the end of the day (like 4:30 pm) to knock on your door to see if you need the room cleaned. We had the please clean our room notification for several hours (10-3) and the cleaning folks kept walking by and did nothing.

Beautiful hotel but for the amount you’re paying a night here I’d expect an exceptionally clean suite. I stood in the duplex suite and our toilet had pee stains and was not clean! Dust on the floor under beds clearly floor has not been swept or moped properly!

I asked for hangers I never got. There’s no full-length mirror. The room was dark. The bed broke. Not a great experience.

Helpful and friendly staff, a nice room too. I loved the location, it’s just not very close to the subway.

The property has a very interesting design, and is clean and well kept. It’s artsy and they’ve done a great job or blending old and new. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious. The staff is helpful. I just wish there were better options for parking but that’s typical of anywhere in New York.

Call to understand room location in case there’s an event (to avoid noise). Offered $75 upgrade to avoid noise, i.e., they knew it would be noisy. Poor value.

Desk service not nice. Safety is a concern for women traveling solo. Desk should not announce loudly to you what your room number is as they hand you a key. When I told them that, they were rude and disrespectful to my suggestion.

We were visiting a friend who lives in Long Island City so we only stayed here for a night. Wish we could have stayed longer ! Loved the hotel - the room was huge with a separate living room space and large king bed. The balcony had a lovely view, bathroom was big. All in all I was very impressed and would stay again. Close to transit, easy to get Ubers. Basically can get wherever you need to go in the city easily. We did drive and found easy street parking close to hotel which is a huge win in the city.

Location for Greenpoint is perfect. And the views!

I wasn’t capable of imagining a hotel room without ANY significant natural light (a tiny skylight 20ft up doesn’t rate), I.e., no windiws. NOW I will always have to worry about this. UGH. if a room has no window, it really has to be mentioned as a feature. Just gross! Maybe some people like it but: no! Otherwise place nice good location, but JFC: you have to mark that there’s no windows!

We were very pleasantly surprised by the Box House Hotel. It is a beautiful little boutique hotel in a great old building. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Having guest laundry was very beneficial as we had no luggage.
