Lovely boutique hotel with easy walking to all sights. Staff was very friendly and helpful . Food was amazing, very gourmet and all was fresh. The chef managed interesting flavors for all meals.

We loved staying at the Haar. The room was perfect - with a view of East Sands from the window (and if the Open hadn't been on, you'd have seen the top of the fairway too). It was very comfortable and every single detail had been thought of - there was a fan, hair straightener and hairdryer, complimentary shortbread and still and sparkling water, TV with streaming services, minifridge stocked with gin and tonic and pre-mixed cocktails, and wonderful toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion - which so many hotels neglect to provide all of). The staff were very friendly. Breakfast is included in the booking which we weren't 100% clear about but make sure to take advantage as its wonderful! We had eggs benedict and eggs royale, both of which were delicious - not too big but a perfect breakfast portion, and we both also had lovely fresh squeezed orange juice and iced coffees. Will highly recommend staying here to anyone else wishing to go as location is wonderful and stay incredibly comfortable.

Great location to see st andrews. Nice place, good room, good view, good breakfast. No elevator, lot of stairs. Finding parking is tough.

Amazing location, incredible views. The staff were absolutely amazing! Very sweet and welcoming! Also has the most amazing dinner there. Highly recommend. The only downside, was the room was warm, but we can’t complain too much as we were in Scotland with gorgeous warm weather. There was a Dyson Fan, but we just weren’t use to no AC.

Very central locations. The rooms are somewhat small but comfortable. Staff was very friendly and location is just down the street from the 18th hole of the Old Course. Would definitely recommend.

We had an unfortunate experience - we booked a standard room £280+/night but upon arrival were given a room which they describe themselves as very small and noisy! I am afraid I believe it’s a case of sell the standard and offer up the 2 sub standard rooms for that money - if it was a genuine one-off fair enough but if not others will be able to relate to this review! In short I fear they are at it! I must say all the staff esp the manger on duty was excellent and could not have done more and she was put in an impossible position - in the end we got a 50% discount and free drinks but it’s not really the point - nobody wants to start their break having to complain and we would never have booked the small noisy room if we had know that is what we were getting regardless of the price!

I've been on a 12 day trip all over Europe and this was hands down the best place I stayed. The service was impeccable, the breakfast delicious, the room was very comfortable and clean, and it was so convenient. If you're in St. Andrews, I highly recommend HAAR with rooms.

Great location. Great people. Food Excellent. No bar but restaurant. Dunvegans pub next door. Walking distance to old course, st andrews university and cathrdral.
