The management at this place goes above and beyond to be helpful. The property is well kept and the surrounding area is very nice. We stayed here one night and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Staff were super helpful, kind, and friendly. Breakfast options great. Staff were readily available to help. The place was clean and orderly. Walls thin, I could hear the man next door coughing all night and could hear his TV that was on most of the night. They should space the few guests that they did have out so they can't be heard on the other side of the wall.

Breakfast was terrible! Boxes of Rice Krispies and below average coffee. Worst ever.
Room was clean but you had to take a shower or stuff washcloth in drain to take a bath. Water medium hot. Price was too high for attributes offered. It was safe and mattress comfortable. Walls thin. I won’t dtay there again.

One night stay visiting the area with other family. It was a nice location, easy in and out. Good service, but limited continental breakfast. Rooms were nice size, ours could have used some maintenance in the bathroom around the discolored and dirty floor bathtub seal.
All in all, room was comfortable and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The Ponderosa is a nice clean comfortable hotel just 6 miles from Joseph and 12 miles from lake Wallowa . The Wallowa Tram is a must see. It takes you to the top of Mount Howard at over 8,000 feet with several nice hikes with spectacular views. We chose the Ponderosa since it’s economical and just a short drive from the lake.
