Really nice staff and great location next to the bridge, but the decor and furnishings are old, outdated and need to be updated. The lumpy carpet was a safety hazard and "hiding" protruding springs with a sofa slipcover doesn't work.

As we arrived, there was a group of young people tailgating and smoking weed in the parking lot. That felt intimidating. Upon checking into our room, the stain on the bed cover and the stained curtains led us to feel dirty. The upside was our stay was short. But not sure how this property got an excellent rating. At best I would say average, but if stained bedding, and an overall dirty feel is offensive to you, beware.

The room furnishings were dated and dark. with poor lighting. Bed and pillows were not comfortable. We had a ground floor room that had no sheer window treatment. Thus, our choices were either a fishbowl open to view by anyone walking by in the parking lot or drawing the blackout curtains on an already dark room. We consider Hampton Inns to be a reliable choice for good quality accommodations. Although this property was clean and otherwise pleasant, the room itself did not live up to our expectations in comparison to previous experiences with this hotel chain.

Rooms are a little tired looking… and shower could have been a bit cleaner ( specifically the shower head, was an older model with water stains ) Staff including house keeping was super friendly and professional… comfortable stay.

Everyone was so nice, room were clean and staff was so pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Can't wait to go back.

The staff were incredibly friendly, courteous, professional and helpful throughout our stay. Comfortable rooms, we enjoyed the breakfast especially the waffles. We loved the convenient location close to major attractions and downtown Hartford. The hotel is very central within easy reach of shops, restaurants and places of attraction such as the Connecticut science centre. Very walkable city with everything clearly signposted. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.
