I needed a room at short notice in this particular location, so that was what I was looking for. A bed for the night. It was close enough to the Sky Bus drop off point from Melbourne airport. The room was clean and functional. The bathroom likewise. I noted that the door widths met with the new Livable Housing Standard, and that for the size of the unit the bathroom had reasonable circulation space as did the step free shower. The entry to the bathroom was also level. Good wifi. Elsternwick station was a 10-15 walk.

Maybe I didn't read the fine print but I wasn't expecting to share with the owner. I was expecting to share the bathroom and the kitchen - that was in the information. But for the price at a time when accommodation is at a premium in Melbourne, it served my purpose. Although the park was visible from the balcony, the street noise was quite high as it is on a busy road. "Close to the beach" is dependent on what you think "close" is.
