The steps up to the bathroom in our room were quite steep and dangerous for kids!

The location is excellent for visiting Poas Volcano. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.

There are two very large dogs on site, one of which barked part of the first night and all night the second night. This was very disruptive to our sleep and we left exhausted. When we complained, office staff said there was nothing that could be done. Yes there is: keep the dog that barks inside at night!

Spectacular view, highest level property, a pleasant territory with a fireplace, proximity to the Poas Volcano - everything I liked! There is an option to buy a budget wine from reception and also to order a tasty pizza from a local bakery (beware of huge portion sizes that are bigger than expected). Seating at a fireplace with wine and watching the lights of San Jose far away down the valley - that's so romantic! Excellent breakfast option in a spectacular building

Our stay at Altura Hotel was amazing, we really enjoyed everything, the staff is really nice, the views are great, the dogs and cats are so lovely, we stayed in the Master Dome and it was really nice and cozy (the only thing is that it can get really cold at night and the heater is very small). In general it was a great weekend to relax, I really recommend this place, it is beautiful!

It’s a dream place, almost perfect. The location, the breakfast and the dogs and cats.

Customer service was deficient. No help with luggage, staff was painting and one of us didn’t know so she got paint on her (no sign), the bathtub was dirty.

Everything except the concept of the breakfast. The place with it's breathtaking view is amazing, safe, comfortable and has its own soul. The room has air dryer and a heater which is a big plus in mountains. Staff recommended a restaurant for a dinner and food there was really delicious!

The breakfast is served in time slots, so you need to choose the exact time for it. We delayed for 7 minutes as we saw a beautiful bird on the way, and the staff was not too happy to our "late" visit, they mentioned we were late but served breakfast though.

We found it by chance in a map search and only when we arrived did we realize what a gem it was. The location is excellent, 10 minutes from Poaz, a tipical and delicious breakfast. We stayed in one of their amazing tents and had a great time. The entire area is charmingly decorated, and the rooms are very pampering. highly recommend

This hotel is great. The breakfast was very good, the room is big and clean and it is very close to the Poas volcano.

Such a beautiful and lovely place! The room was incredibly comfortable and spacious, the water pressure was great (which is apparently not so common in Costa Rica…), breakfast was super tasty and rich, the staff was amazing, caring and helpful. But above all, the view was mesmerizing! Highly recommended!!! 💖

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. Very friendly helpful and professional staff, delicious breakfast, great room with comfy beds and lots of space for 4 of us.

We liked the garden, quite and the view. The room was clean. The hotel is close to La Poas which allows to get there early.

Curtains were moldy. The room was a bit cold. The hot water in the shower sometimes cut off for a minute or 2.

Service was great and given from heart. Sorounding is beautiful internal and external.

Maintenance should be a bit improved, though every issue was taken care of immediately

The view is amazing here. The owner really keeps his property beautiful. I love the view of the cattle on the hillside, the hidden kitties all around and the super friendly doggos on the property. There are plenty of beautiful lounge spots to choose to sightsee through out the day. There was a big thunderstorm that knocked power our the night before we arrived. The owner gave us an upgrade from the tent to a room. This place is special and gorgeous.

super comfortable room for four to five, with alkoven for the kids to sleep, kitchen corner with refrigerator and coffeemaker, super nice view, only 10 minutes from Poas Volcano, very friendly staff, fire place outside and we got marshmallows to grill

The initial room …. Very old, particle board walls, rain brought loud banging on a tin like roof. Had to walk a considerable distance over a couple of washed out gravel sections to this unusual …room We were moved to a modern, good room in the hotel shown in pics

.The staff were so nice. They accommodated our very late arrival and were very helpful.

While one room was very nice, i wish we had rented 3 of those instead of the container apartment. The suite was beautiful. I would rate the suite 10 out of 10. I would not stay in the container housing again.
