Taxi service from Kathgodam railway station to hotel was 1500+ GST. Nainital day trip from hotel was 2500+GST.

We had a very disappointing experience with our stay at Sterling Nainital.
1. The room was just about average and lacked both the appeal and amenities of a premium resort
2. There are not many facilities and activities within the property, such a swimming pool, which are generally available in other such properties
3. The lighting inside the room is not sufficient
If you take note of the reviews on other popular booking sites, you can see similar concerns expressed by many other guests as well. This is very unbecoming of a brand as popular as Sterling. The problem is more to do with the management and less with the service of the staff (We did not have any issue with the service provided by on ground staff). It is overpriced for below average facilities, makes the guests feel like Sterling took advantage of the brand name while not delivering the expectations.

Nothing.. the breakfast was okay
We booked premium room but they gave a room in another nearby building which was supposedly a part of the hotel..the room was small and dingy, all linens dirty.. the chairs was the old and tattered and the sofa bed they gave was dirty with trash underneath if you try to unfold it.. horrible experience.. waste of money.. it's more like a 2 star hotel not at all worth the price they have set..

Breakfast was Good but View from Restaurant is disappointing. Prices are on the Higher side
Lift does not work if Power Supply is down. Room Lighting is dim

The size of premier room was lika a cinema hall
The property is 12km away from Nainital. Lift was not working. So had to climb 3 stairs to go to reception or restaurant. Tandoor was broken down. Poor maintenance of property

Rude staff, dirty hotel,old structure, receptionist was worst person

The delivery timing of the food we ordered was quick, the stay was comforting, the staff was polite.
No doubt the stay was comfortable, but didn't like few things. The lighting of the room was very low..they could have given one or two bright lights. Secondly, whatever food we ordered, the portion size for each of the items was very less compared to the price charged. Thirdly, the microwave given in the room was in a dirty condition, which I believe before the arrival of the guest should have been cleaned.
