The location was perfect.

We loved our stay at Villa Mary! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The villa is well situated and there are two restaurants on the same street and many more within walking distance just across the bridge. The house is beautifully decorated. Mary is so nice and helpful offering suggestions of things to do and good restaurants. Parking was easy, we found a spot right in front of the house and left our car there the whole time of our stay. We definitely recommend staying here and if we are in the area we would definitely stay here again!

The lady owner is a super host, very kind and available. The location is fantastic, on the island up to 10 min easy walk to the castle. Everything is spotless clean. The room is large, elegant designed. The bed is huge and super comfortable. Own great bathroom, tv, well equipped kitchen shared with another room. We enjoyed very much our stay, just regret it was for only one night. Easy free and safe parking on the street in front of the house. We definitely recommend it. Thank you Mrs. Mary

We had a large, clean room in an excellent location. We liked that this is a small business owner dedicated to providing excellent service. The host was helpful and friendly and also accommodated our special requests.

Villa Mary is close to the train station and to the tourist attractions. Although Mary wasn’t there her son Pierre Francois was and he was so helpful.

This is not something we disliked but something to be aware of. It was our first time in a B&B so we were more cognizant that any noise we made could disturb others.

The location is brilliant, close to amenities, town center, restaurants and sights. Short walk to station. The bedroom was very comfortable and bathroom excellent. Facilities and toiletries in room excellent. Marie was very pleasant and helpful.

We did not appreciate from the description that the kitchen was shared with other bedrooms. Particularly as we stayed a week and there were different guests in the other bedroom most days. In the Villa Mary Description: 'The units come with parquet floors and feature a fully equipped kitchen' and again as part of the room description 'In your 'private' kitchen:' I subsequently note in Facilities it says Shared Kitchen but this should be made clear in the Room description.

Villa Mary is literally a house that Mary, the owner, has remodeled into a very small hotel (3 or 4 rooms at most I believe). She lives there, so she is available if you need her, but she also doesn't bother you. She is an incredibly pleasant person and the place is very charming. She showed me how to use the coffee maker and chatted with me about the area. The shower in the room is big enough to move around which I found in staying at a number of places in France, having a decent sized shower is unusual and almost hard to come by. It's in a great location on an island in the city, a cute pizza/burger/cheese and meat restaurant is right around the corner and the city center is a 10 minute walk across a beautiful bridge across the Loire River. You can see the castle from the window (if you turn your head). The place does not have AC, which is very common in France to reduce the impact of climate change, but it did cool off at night when I was there. The window is big and you get lots of river air with it open. That said, it is right next to the road so you will hear cars/motorcycles coming, going and passing by. It's not a drive through road so it's mostly just parked vehicles that are leaving or arriving during the day and into around 11 pm/midnight. Amboise is a sleepy French town with all the culture you are looking for, but without the crazy nightlife of some of the bigger city centers so you don't need to worry about noise all night long. Someone played accordion in the downtown city center and it was lovely. There's also a park and river access all around this little quaint hotel. My only regret is not staying longer to check it all out.

It might get warm during a heatwave, but I was there when the weather was cool so it was lovely.

Beautiful room and the hotel location is ideal, with plenty of on street parking. We had a very warm welcome and comfortable stay.

Breakfast was not provided but there was a well equipped kitchen with tea, coffee etc.

We LOVED Villa Mary, and Mary, the owner. She went out of her way to help us with reservations, parking information, restaurant suggestions and more. Her home is absolutely wonderful for the week we stayed. The small kitchen was perfect to keep our yogurt, fruit and waters for our morning and afternoons. We are foodies so our meals were all eaten out, except for one late afternoon, after a full day, finding few restaurants open, we grabbed some food to go and ate back at the Villa. You truly cannot get a better location. It is on the small, I'Ile d'or (island in the Loire). Every morning walking across the bridge we had a full view of the Amboise chateau. There is a lovely bar - the Shaker - at the end of the street. It sits up overlooking the chateau and river where people come to watch the sunset. In the city of Amboise there's an abundance of restaurants and most of the Valley's major chateaux are within an hour's drive. The location of Villa Mary is in a very quiet location.

I truly cannot think of anything that was not to our liking. There was certainly nothing at Villa Mary that we did not like. Go, see for yourself.

Mary was very welcoming, and the two bedrooms were spacious with two modern en-suite bathrooms. Ideal for four adults or a family. The kitchen was great for drinks and coffee and tea all provided. All much better than the bigger hotels in Amboise where we have stayed previously. Terrific location for the chateau and restaurants. Parking was not a problem nearby. Highly recommended!
