Beds were super comfy

I checked in at 7 pm on Oct 12. Desk clerk said "Can't rent you a room". I replied what is going on, I have had this reservation for over a month now? She replied: You are on our No-Rent list and have smoked in your room! I explained first of all, I have never smoked in my life. Second, I have NEVER stayed at a Comfort Inn in Canada. You have made a mistake. She was adamant and issued a refund to CC on the spot. There was a Best Western next door, got a room for 2 nights, I needed 5 nights. Now the truths come out. Desk Clerk states there is a big event in town this weekend, you can can stayover on FRI, SAT and SUN night but at $300 per night. All the hotels are booked in the area this weekend at extremely high prices. I now realized my original reservation was CANCELLED by the COMFORT INN because they could get more than twice the price I had paid, and would not honor my prepaid lower priced reservation. They fabricated that I was a Smoker and would not honor my original 5 night reservation in order to sell my room and charge a much higher $ 300+ rate to walk-in folks. Do NOT stay here. They cancelled my reservation in order to make more money and lied that I am a smoker. Again, never smoked in my life nor have I stayed at a Comfort Inn in Canada, but they refused to listen to the truth and facts. Money rules.

Conveniently located.

Hotel needs a massive upgrade. Receptionist was not present upon our arrival. She seemed busy somewhere else, then came to the desk after 10-15mins or so. We even called the desk twice, phone rang, no answer. She was pleasant once she arrived.

Very little.... the first floor stunk of cigarette smoke, which you had no choice to walk through for the mediocre breakfast and front desk.

Besides the foul smelling facility, I was completely shocked to find out they don't change any beds, or towels or even coffee supplies on longer stays. I actually was ready to leave for a better hotel, and only stayed due to the cost and inconvenience it would've turned into. The WIFI was horrible!! I was there for some work, and every time I tried to upload anything, the connection kept disconnecting. Other than the location, there was nothing about this place I could compliment. I will never again return there for anything. For four days, I paid over $600, which is about half of my monthly mortgage payment. What a complete rip off.
