It was clean and comfortable and welcoming to our two Labradors. All the people that worked there was super friendly. The sheets were amazing. What a nice place to land while being on the road for a long while.
4.3
Quaint, quiet, and a great staff. They made the best of everything at their disposal.
Relating purely to the "bang for thr buck", Nothing modern, no smart tv, microwave, or fridge. Sour creamers for coffee. Small coffee cups, 2 sips, and you need a refill. There is no in room phone to call the front desk. I have to use cell, even though room notes say dial 0.

Excellent staff . Friendly. Attentive to our needs/requests
Sadly, the rooms are showing their age. Bathrooms outdated and run down.

Good breakfast; but not too many choices. In the past it used to to be much more extensive

Legendary place to stay. Very welcoming to our two little dogs. We were refugees from the storm so felt fortunate to have the room.
Room was small and bed less comfortable than expected. No heat the first night and when we asked about it the next day we were given an electric space heater and told that they knew about thermostat malfunction and that the window had been open all day ( in winter)...they forgot when we checked in...no adjustment offered.
Breakfast didn't start until 0730 so I missed both mornings but I know from previous experience that the breakfast is great.

The architecture, the restaurant, the staff, our bed and our bathroom.
Some traffic noise because our room was facing the street.

What a gem! During our travels we decided to stay one night in Eureka, CA. After a quick search for places that except pets (as we were with our German Shepherd) we came across the Carter House Inns. Even though the cost was a little bit more I could tell by the photos and the location it was going to be worth it. We were not disappointed! The room was on the 1st floor and was adorable. It is in all the details that make this stay worth every penny. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. They served an omelet with cheese and red peppers. Homemade muffins, avocado toast and fresh fruit was also offered. I have to say the little extra cost was certainly covered by this amazing breakfast. As far as location goes it was less then a 5 minute walk to the water where there is a park and a walking/biking trail. A perfect place to take our dog! In closing the staff was very friendly and made you feel beyond welcome! Thank you for surviving the government shutdowns.
My only suggestion is to eliminate the $30 pet fee. Most places no longer have such charges. With that said, I know there are some irresponsible pet owners out there and room damage could be a real occurrence.

The location is in Old Town so easy walking to Farmers Market on Friday nights and local bistros. Located on a side street, it was quiet (important to me). Parking was adjacent to the hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming - Sarah checked us in and was a delight. The small bar offered an excellent Happy Hour with free wine pours to new guests from 4-8. The food offered was delicious - Adrian was the chef at night for the bar/lobby and at Dan was the chef for breakfast. Both did an outstanding job!
The only thing better would have been if we could have stayed two nights!

Breakfast was lovely - fresh and simple.
The rooms walls were thin and I could hear the man in the next snoring all night. That was very disappointing.

The friendly staff and cleaned hotel
Safety around the area. The hotel Location has homeless situation that’s not controllable by the hotel, and one of hotel guests’ car got break in unfortunately:(

A good continental breakfast
Disappointed that we could not stay in the original victorian house and the traffic noise from highway. Also seemed to be many homeless people wandering around in the middle of the night.

The room was fantastic. The little bar was great though I didn’t like that one of the guests brought in two huskies into the bar who sniffed everyone who came in. Really?
The breakfast was disappointing. An ultra sweet cinnamon roll and two berries. I can’t handle that much sugar so early in the morning and they didn’t have anything else. I heard others that are vegan and/or gluten free leaving. The place is a little loud at night.
